I imagine that Defiant and the Teeth have counters against Strangers, since Defiant has counters against everything.

My guess for the rest of this arc is that Taylor's crew confronts Jack, the end of the world kicks off (somehow), and Contessa steps in to shut down the remaining Nine. I can't shake the idea that Cauldron wants the End to happen now as opposed to further down the line, I just can't see why. Perhaps they feel that they're more prepared to deal with it right now than they would be 15-20 years in the future? Too many capes by that point? Too much risk that the super-villain Doc Mom seems to fear might pop up by then? Number Man and Contessa get too old to be completely effective? Who knows.

I don't think we're going to see too much more action involving the remaining clones.

i doubt natural age would be a troubling factor for cauldron. at this point i think he has introduced as many mysteries as we can bear.

i really hope he has some good, overarching concepts in mind for how it is all connected:

powers, the passengers, the endbringers, the golden man...

i also never got if earth aleph had the same endbringers that earth bet has. didn´t the simurgh make the portal IN earth aleph that got the travelers stuck in earth bet?

does that mean there are two simurghs or does the one switch earths? also didn´t scion also fight her that time?

i never got the idea that it was a parallel earth in THAT sense.

There's only one Simurgh. Aleph doesn't have Endbringers and only has a handful of capes. One of the Simurgh's powers is to open portals to other worlds, which she does to draw the Travelers to Bet.

Not quite. She stole the schematics for a portal device from a Tinker in Earth Aleph, which she then used to drag the Travelers over.

The Tinker was in Earth Bet. Dr Haywire I think. It was his base that was in Madison, not really sure but I think that was where the Travellers found the power bottles.

Are you sure? There had been Tinker tech capable of sending messages through to alternate Earths at that point, but I thought it was only capable of sending information through and that Dr. Haywire would have been the one to change that (as Tattletale/Labyrinth/Scrub did later). Then again, if the only thing the Simurgh brought over using the information Tinker tech was a method of building portals...

It was Haywire's tech that the Simurgh used, and it was his tech that allowed contact between Aleph and Bet.

I'd forgotten that. Good point. Rest of what I said still stands.

Okay, then please once more for clarification: the travellers were in earth aleph: Simurgh attacks and gets engaged by Scion, and the Triumvirate. Then, IN earth Aleph she builds the portal that takes them all (back) to earth Bet?

If so, did she use a different portal to come to earth Aleph beforehand through which S. and t T. followed? I don´t remember that being described.

No. Simurgh created the portal in Earth Bet which was described to draw the travelers into Earth Bet. And the Portal brought people from other places too like from Cauldron. Simurgh never traveled to Earth Aleph.

    What Schmangoo said.

The travellers were in Earth Aleph talking about their competitive LoL team (lewl), meanwhile in Bet, the Simurgh steals Haywire's portal technology, and rips a hole to Aleph and a bunch of other worlds, sucking in buildings, people, everything. It's still unclear exactly who her target was, or if she had multiple. Opening the portal resulted in Echidna, but also in the death of uh... Thinker dude with a plan for everything. Drawing a blank on his name.

But yeah. I think a lot of people just need to reread the arc, it wasn't that confusing.

Accord. It's interesting that it was another Traveler that killed him, all the rest of the spam that got sucked into Bet from the portal may have just been misdirection to cover for the Travelers.

Maybe Tattletale just forgot about Imp.

Clockblocker might be to far away to come quickly. Defiant might be able to deal with Nice Guy duo to cyborg vision or something. Or maybe Saint if Nice Guys power needs line of sight or something.

But mostly I just find that attack suicidal. They might jump into half the clone army here. It'd be one thing if they had Legend or a few Azazels, but this way...
I'd predict a depressing loss if that woudn't remove the protagonist, her close friends and the Protectorates power structure.

Nope, Weaver explicitly says she left out Imp because apparently her power might be unreliable(someone could see through it) plus I think Imp refused to go.

Also another question its been a really long while since Grue got tortured by Bonesaw, why is Taylor still thinking he is inefficitive? This is why the timeskip doesn't work.

Yeah, times heals all wounds and all that jazz. People can only be traumatised by something for like... a few weeks at most.

They do. Stranger protocol for them means their helmets block off their real senses, only letting them see through cameras. Would have worked against Nice Guy(s). Unfortunately, they were up against Nyx (whose illusions are physical and thus still show up on camera) and Psychosoma (whose illusions apparently ... aren't).

Haha I get your point but Grue was potrayed like a really strong willed guy, so I was hoping that he would have healed by know. Even if he didn't it seems Taylor, without apparently having not talked to him in a long time, doesn't think he healed and that kind of sucks.

Ah well guess its time I finally accept that the Undersiders are over for good storywise.

Having such a hard time getting into these last few arcs. They're cool, but it all just seems so much less about Taylor now than ever before. Sure she's running shit, but it's almost like she's a nonentity. I miss the days when fighting mannequin solo was like flipping a coin - 50/50 on a good day.

I think it works thematically. Its the 'endgame', and the scope of the story has had to be zoomed out dramatically. It was done a little jarringly, but it had to happen. And it makes sense in light of Taylor's power. She's powerful against most opponents, but her true strength, or at least a great deal of her utility, lies in her multitasking abilities, her strategic acumen, her creativity, and her ruthlessness.

She does wade into close combat, but much of the story has shown time and again that she's awesome at planning and executing plans that rely on the strengths of her allies and weaknesses of her enemies. Now that she has a bunch of allies, and her enemies are correspondingly more dangerous, she's become a brain more than an arm to her goals.
