The Setting: Year four, days after the nomination of the Triwizard champions.
The plot: "Go make your own country", starting with two 'what if"s:
- What if there was more to Harry entering the Tournament for a fourth school?
- What if Hannah Abbott and Susan Bones where lesbians?

It features clueless!Harry, protective!Hermione, semi-manipulative!horny!Slytherins, grandfatherly!Dumbledore, almost-nonexistent!Ron, cute!WelshGreen, lesbian!'Puffs and rumor-mill!Hogwarts.

It's a typical Rorschach story, composed of numerous, often quite short scenes strung together by a plot of minor importance. If you like his ideas and dialogues, then you'll love this. The general plot eventually ends dissatisfying without any true climax - but several scenes really are great and make up for that.

Grammar and spelling are polished, (I assume by his Yahoo group), though there still are quite a few typos.


All in all I rate it 4/5

 

Was this published somewhere else before FFN? I feel like I read this half a year ago.

Rorschach humor. Snippet scenes. Clueless!Harry. Super!Harry. He makes his own island nation, and pretty much everyone joins up one after another. A pretty awesome Dumbledore. Minion's post really just about sums it up.

It's fun, but lacks any real depth and complexity. Harry's more of a tool for the tone of the story, and we don't get his pov too much. Mostly the people around him and the people joining his little nation. I'm a little hesitant, but I'll rate this 3.5, rounded up to 4.

 

If I had read this story two years ago I'm sure I would have enjoyed a lot. But now, and after reading much of Rorschach stories, some that were similar and much better written, funnier and more original... I just think we had similar stories here, much better by the same author. A 3/5 for a story that wasn't bad or annoying, just a tired one. Not library worth.

 

Rorschach has the unique distinction of becoming a worse writer over time, but since this is a few years old it's simply meh instead of terribad. 3/5 from me.

 

Plot was interesting enough. I liked it, thought it was fairly funny.

Eh, just kinda boring. Don't really like Clueless Harry's much.

 

It's not that he's become worse, it's that stories have become better, and he hasn't kept up.

His stories are entertaining at times, but usually just become monotonous after awhile, with the same casual humor filler scenes, that aren't very serious, but don't really mean much either.

Bobmin is kinda the other extrem. Also Rorsh writes funny stories, but they usually get very flat toward the end.

 

Yeah, that's my main problem with him and with this story.

It also gets repetitive, but as it isn't that long, it didn't bother me that much.
