I highly recommend the ones before and after this as well, not thoroughly library quality, but most of the time, these fics are awesome, you just have to get through some early cliches for the Indy!Harry genre

 

Historians will define the series as a "Joe finds his narrative voice" thing. Read book three and compare with Wastelands or Distant Star. He hit his groove after that.

How has nobody recommended A Stranger in an Unholy Land yet? OP has probably already read it, and my hard-on for the story is already well established, but I bring it up because it fits what he was looking for.
