Some days ago, during a charity reading that JK attended, renowned authors Stephen King and John Irving asked her to spare Harry's life; her response was predictable, she made no promises, but it got me wondering.

    Would she really kill Harry?

And if she did, do you think she could keep him dead?

King made a remark about Sherlock Holmes' 'death' in Reichenbach, when Doyle got tired of the character, and we all know how that turned out, don't we?

When it comes to a character as popular as Harry Potter, would the public allow him to die and remain dead, or do you think JK would be forced to follow in Doyle's footsteps?

I was bitching about this on IRC the other day. I say let the motherfucker die and see his relatives again.

My only request is that she makes him go down like Scarface -- down to the shotgun blast to the back.

Not only do I agree with Gio, but I have to smile at the mental image. :D

More likely, though, is he will die in some kamekazi love attack to take him and Voldemort out together. While Ginny pretends to cry, sitting in Harry's vault on his mounds of gold.

The audience can reach from little kids to adults. To satisfy the kids and the fangirls, she's going to keep him alive.

I'd go for the death in a blaze of glory act myself. It would be great to read and a real kick in the pants.

I also wouldn't mind the last man standing senario. Where Harry walk away victorious but barely alive.

Thougth neither are likely to happen. This is a kids series for one thing and its supposed to be about love. So most likely Harry will join a commune, have sex every 20 minuts. When Voldie finally confronts him he will demostrate the amazing power of weed and leave Voldie high and dry. Especially high.

    I can see it now.
Harry Potter to the DE in a Battle " You wanna fuck with me? Okay. You wanna play rough? Okay. Say hello to my little friend! (Tony Montana)"

Harry Dealing with a Muggle cop.
Muggle cop: "Where'd you get the beauty scar, tough guy, eatin' pussy?(Immigration Officer)"
Harry Potter: "How'm I gonna get a scar like that eating pussy? (Tony Montana)"

Another Quote for the final battle
    Harry:
" You think you can take me? You need a fucking army if you gonna take me!(Tony Montana)"

    ...This could work.

Indo, stop quoting this Montana guy, and make up your own lines. They aren't even particularly good lines as it is.

IMO she will make a big deal of Harry sacrificing himself to save the people he loves, and he will probably die whilst taking Voldemort down, with Dumbledore, Sirius and his parents in the fore front of his mind.

i don't think he is going to die.

mainly because what would be the point of the entire book.

sometimes your life sucks but don't worry die young and you can be with the people that love you.

or god hates you just kill yourself

A Little link to help you with Scarface.

B.O.T: She's gonna kill him. If he lives past the seventh book, poeple will annoy her about writing more books.

There was another tidbit mentioned during some selected questions she ansewred afterwards. Dumbledore is dead and has no chance of coming back.

Yeah, I was going to post that link but DLR has beaten me to it. The trio survives!... what a crock of shit. As if all of them would live.

The resulting couples afterwards make me want to hurl.

    I knew Snape was good.

    NOOOOO

Well its not like this is a complete suprise. I was hoping that that Harry would be killed of in a blaze of glory or atleast in battle but saddly this was not to be. Snape being good was somewhat unexpected but honestly did anybody think that she was going to let Harry be right about that one.

Alas, if HPB can be compared to a fanfic you save for a boring day, Book 7 shall be the fic that would get a royal flaming on DLP.

I can see it, the final battle is fought, Voldmort is slain by the power of love. Harry emerged from the dust carrying Ginny in his hands proclaiming his undying love while Ron and Hermione walk away unscaved, in love alabit a bit bruised from the fantastic fuck session the night before. They are in perfect harmony as there is no more UST.

As I read this book at BN I think that I am going to throw it and myself in front of the G train on my way home.

HPB is not a book to save! Its meant to be burnt to roast marshmallows!!

I'm not surprised that she made Snape good... I kindda guessed it in HPB but really hoped against it. This is such a load of crap. Whats more disturbing is the posts following that say things like "Snape's good. Awesome!!!111".

Sadly, Brook's (mind if I call you Brook?) version of the final battle is the likely outcome.

    Ugh!

    Thank God for fanfiction.

I only hope that Harry doesn't find out that Snape is good until after he kills him. And I don't want Harry to regret killing him either.

    "Advada Kedavera"

"Harry! No! What have you done?! Snape was really good and just killed Dumbledore because Dumbledore wanted him too!"

"Enh. He was still and ass hole."

Seriously, how is she going to pull off Snape being good after that?

J.K: They plotted together and they had to kill him.

Me, or other DLP user: Err, I think Dumbledore is more important that Snape. Who cares if Snape dies, Dumbledore is the one with knowledge and strength.

J.K: ...I wrote the book, so, um, there.

    Harry is Dead the Epilogue

JK said that she had written the epilogue to the seventh book well before she had started on the first one. Can you imagine the epilogue taking place just after the chapter where in the last battle Harry dies. The entire series has revolved around Harry (except for the first chapter of HBP), it just doesn't make sense to have an epilogue after the main character has been killed. We don't want an epilogue about a bereaved Hermione and Ron. How's this for an epilogue where Harry is dead.

    Epilogue Book 7
Harry was lying down surrounded by many cushions, with his eyes closed. It couldn't be said that he was comfortable, nor that he was uncomfortable. Harry, in fact, didn't have an opinion one way or another concerning his present surroundings, because Harry Potter wasn't a normal boy. As a matter of fact, he was as not normal as it is possible to be. Harry Potter was a corpse- a corpse fresh from his seventh year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. And if the worms crawling around his coffin where indifferent to Harry's being there it was nothing to how indifferent Harry himself felt. He no longer thought of Hogwarts. He no longer thought of the castle, with it's secret passageways and ghosts, nor his classes (especially the ones with Snape the Potions Master). All Harry's spellbooks, his wand, robes, cauldron, and top-of-the-line [Firebolt] had been locked in [the] cupboard under the stairs by Uncle Vernon the instant that they had been delivered after Harry's death. (He really should have made a will)

Roughly two meters above Harry's reclined form (and a bit to the side) were two other seventeen year olds, however these seventeen year olds where slightly less abnormal than the boy below their feet, yes they where also former students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, however, these teenagers where indeed alive, and furthermore they had quite a lot on their minds, however no one really cares what these bereaved teenagers where thinking about. This story is about Harry and it would quite odd to suddenly give insight into the inerworkings of these lesser characters.

    The End

See it just doesn't work, I'm quite sure that Harry will indeed be alive at the end of the series.
