Kyuubi making handseals is still the dumbest and silliest thing I have seen and it makes it impossible to take things even a little bit seriously.

That's not to say that without it, the story would be any better, since I am just bored at this point. Silly stuff is happening and just feels lame overall. Senjutsu is the one thing that works, okay, not as terrible as everything else so far. The fistbumps lost their novelty a long time ago here and the dumb comparisons ("just like my brother") are not really doing anything for me.

I feel honestly bad for seeing the manga in this shape, Fremdscham would be the most accurate description of my feelings. It's like seeing an old friend doing something embarrassing and stupid and you have no way of telling them.

That chapter doesn't make much sense.
If Juubi is just a mass of natural energy then why Kyuubi have Yin and Yang parts?

Wait I'm confused I always thought that Minato gave Naruto the metaphorically evil chakra and sealed the opposite inside himself. Or was it the other way around?

Neither. He sealed the Yin (spiritual energy type) chakra inside himself and the Yang (physical energy type) chakra inside Naruto. The chakra natures have never been defined as good or evil, it's just that Kurama himself was full of malice and hate.

I don't actually mean one piece of chakra was all evil and the other all good but even from just popular culture I know yin and yang is all about duality and such. I think I'm just asking which is light and which is dark, life or death, and which one Naruto got though you just answered that at least.

Yeah, in Naruto Yin/Yang chakra just seems to represent Spiritual/Physical energies, going along with the whole chakra theme. No good/evil or life/death.

Yea, it's a little confusing. If you remember, also, when Kurama remembers how Mito and Kushina spoke of/to him, they both suggested he was full of hatred/etc. and that was before he was split.

Mmm, in the Naruto-verse, Yin and Yang seem to be understood in Taoist terms, where moral distinctions like Good and Bad are not "real," because they are perceptions.

I actually had a theory once, that Elemental Chakra was made through a certain combination of Yin and Yang chakra, in different structures. Kind of like the I Ching Trigrams. (For ex, 2/3 yang, and 1/3 Yin for WIND CHAKRAS (Otherwise ☴ in Trigram form)

    Huh, Well alright then.

That's... actually a really cool idea.

The theory could have held true, or at least, have been possible until the latest chapters. Even Pein's use of Yin/yang techniques didn't disprove it.

In the I Ching, 3 broken Lines (Yin) is Earth, and 3 Yang (Unbroken lines) would be Heaven. His weird gravity techniques (If that's what they were. I'm still unsure if it was gravity, or vectors) could be interpreted as Push and Pull, with Pull being Yin (Like the Earth's gravity pulling thins in) and Push being Heaven. (Away from the Earth, and so into the sky or the "Heavens")

The thing that messes it up is that apparently Tsunade's healing techniques use Yin chakra. In my theory, I had healing chakra being represented by the Lake Trigram.

It may still be possible, but things have gotten so muddled in the manga lately, I doubt it.

Τhe thing is, you've probably put more thought into it than Kishimot has.

So apparently that whole yin/yang chakra splitting was just a fancy way of saying "Kyuubi shadow clone." Because that's really what this amounts to, right?

That's what I took from it. There's that tree-growing thing that Yang!Kurama does but nothing's really come from that.

It's less a shadow clone and more a full duplicate... Perhaps with some differences we don't yet know about.

Do you think the positive and negative chakra used to make a Bijuudama is referring to ying and yang chakra or is Kishi just making up something Bijuu specific?

If it was just a Yin and Yang combination, the Bijuudama would basically just be regular chakra, seeing as that's how regular chakra is made.

Wrote a Nardofic about this stuff once. It involved time travel and existentialist Taoism.

    Right.

Probably Minato wasn't able fully separate Yin from Yang, otherwise Kurama in Naruto would have been just mindless mass of chakra.

Ehhh, I doubt that Kishi would have Minato be flat out wrong when he told Naruto that the Shinigami ate the Yin portion of Kurama. I think it's just possible to have Yin without Yang and vice versa. Like the Nara techniques, which solely utilize Yang chakra.
