Regardless, that part could use a bit of clarification.

Oh... Funny didn't even cross my mind it could be interpreted that way, and normally I am the one who goes to bring it up only to find someone else already did too...

I interpreted it as: Shuffle shakes his head at Taylor: He couldn't bring back Grue. Then Taylor asks Clockblocker if there was any chance he survived, and Clockblocker shakes his head no. It is pretty vague though.

To be honest, I thought you were joking about Grue dying. I accidentally checked this thread before the update, thus getting 'spoiled', then got to the end of the chapter and wondered why Grue wasn't dead. Had to re-read it and squint my eyes a bit to see where you were coming from.

I think it's completely obvious that nobody died. Did you read the next line?

“Nobody left on the other side,” I reported. “String?”

    Duh?

Edit: To be more specific, she's asking Grue if anyone in his team was left behind, and Grue shook his head. We would have had a different reaction otherwise.

I interpreted that to mean nobody alive was left, and Taylor had emotionally shut down. The other way probably makes more sense though.

    Clockblocker :(

Man, taylor went full Kafka on us there, turning into a bug/creature for a while. I really enjoyed this chapter. It reminded me of the good old days that were the Leviathan attack,. Mostly because of the water setting, but also because of the "overwhelmed" vibe going on.

Things are really falling to crap though. Iḿ going to hazard a guess though and say that despite being nearly bisected, Taylor's going to pull through thanks to Panacea.

Clockblocker is definitely dead, Grue may be alive though (It'd be ironic if he died a chapter after some people misreading his death).

Taylor will be fine as there was no reason for Panacea to be on the platform, but things are pretty bleak in general. For a little bit during the chapter I thought Taylor would trigger again and grab control of Scion, but no Deus Ex Passenger for her.

Yea, I'm gonna miss Clockblocker. But I'm interested to see where the next chapter goes with Taylor being so defeated this chapter. And not even physically, but mentally she just got reminded of all the bad shit in her life.

Next one's definitely an interlude. I wouldn't mind one from those sitting at base, listening/watching/seeing the numbers change as shit goes down.

Paging Doctors Bonesaw, Panacea, and Mother. Patient in the ICU.

This chapter was intense, probably one of my favorites in a while. When the Irregulars think you're creepy as hell, you know you've got an image problem.

Also, considering the massive amounts of damage done to Taylor's body this last chapter, I'm half thinking that the good doctors might decide to just stabilize and leave her with her spider abomination body instead of trying to regrow half a human one - if that's even something they'd be willing to try. Being a living horror would probably be preferable for Taylor than living the rest of her (probably) short life with one hand, no legs and only half her digestive tract.

The abomination SpiderTaylor was about a billion times better than whiny Spiderman. It was damn fun.

I don't think Wildbow will do anything as corny as turn bug girl into some sort of walking insect. It's a touch too obvious.

I thought Lab Rat's transformation thing had already worn off at the end of the chapter. She's already human again.

Yup. She was passing out from the pain as she was sucked through the portal with the water.
