We were not at all certain in our ability to fight them without the Baron buff. Remember, we were losing so far, and were quite behind. The enemy team were quite scary.
3 of them, who were alive, could have stalled us if we had gone for the base, not to mentione that twitch/riven would be 20 sec away from alive. We would have gotten an inhib, maybe.
It was much easier and safer to take baron, and would yield better results.

I literally just had 4 games with jungle where every single lane fails. Every single lane eats harass and has no idea how to deal with it before I can even clear my buffs. Or they get all in'd by a lvl 2 Wukong. Despite me stealing buffs/taking dragons and getting kills on my ganks every single lane gets destroyed and then blames me.

My ELO is in the shitter. I have people who argue about counters in champ select =(

 

If all your lanes are losing choose the one that's losing the least/could carry the most if they got their game back under control and babysit the fuck out of it. All you can do.

 

Welp, I'm on a 4 game win streak now. I didn't really make too great plays, except in the 3rd one as Malzahar. We won all lanes and it snowballed from there.

Lost one, won one, both with Silver 1s finishing out their promo series by duoing with gold friends. First pick so I took Thresh with a Draven who actually did quite well. Lvl 1 fight when enemy tried to invade around my wards ends up 3-1 for us, however the S1 Renekton gets his shit handed to him by Jayce and makes some stupid ass decisions all game, including building warmogs and mobi-homeguards and chasing Twitch with his duo partner while the rest of us get raped 3v4. Brand gets caught and misses a bunch of easy shots, then runs into all 4 because he "disconnected." Bunch of full retard throws around Baron. Won lane, lost game and enemy Jarvan carries.

Second, Lulu Cait vs Leona Vayne. Jungle Udyr constantly runs in, eats a turret shot, stuns and runs when nobody is in position to dive. Really retarded siege on mid inhib almost costs us baron but they stopped it to nab free kills on Udyr and Silver 1 Vlad and have to defend against super minions flowing down mid. More mini throws and stupid plays, including Udyr and Ahri diving past turret while Cait gets executed trying to take it down. Vlad also goes afk at our inner mid tower for a good minute or so. Leona, Jarvan and Shen are all scared as fuck of engaging on us even though we have fuck all for peel aside from me and Udyr's single stuns, and Ahri's charms that never land. Still, a win is a win.

 

Get a 50/50 win/loss ratio and keep it consistent, you'll start to climb albeit slow as balls. Winning streaks seem like the worst thing that can happen as you just get your mmr sky-rocketing albeit the system compensates when you get a promo to go up a division by rapidly killing off how much LP you get per win.

Doing my Gold III/II promo in the morning, whichever one it ends up being - Should be III but maybe I'll get lucky. Servers finally seem to have stabilised, currently geting my ass handed to me in ARAM's with some fucking appauling 'random' champions - 22 ARAM games in 4 days, I've had Ziggs or Nami for 17 of them which is just ridiculous when I own 85 champions. Almost feel like buying a lottery ticket would suit me very nicely with that kind of luck.

 

If you keep winning more than you lose, eventually you'll earn more LP than you lose. Really to maintain a 55-60% total win ratio if you want to climb at any noticeable rate.

 

Wait, are you implying that getting Ziggs in ARAM is an appalling random roll?. He's no Lux, Nidalee, Xerath, as an example, but he's still one of the best ones in my experience. I could understand Nami if one didn't like her style, but I feel like she would be pretty nice on ARAM too. Not like you are consistently rolling a melee (AD) bruiser without a gap closer.

Maybe I just misunderstood, though.

 

Not complaining about the champions themselves, Ziggs wave clear is ridiculous as is his burst if you can catch a squishy at the right time, and Nami's sustain and general ability to keep her team alive after level 12 or so is also bordering on ridiculous, especially once you have Athene's/Deathcap.

It's more the fact that out of 4 days of playing ARAM's, I think I've had 7 champions total when I own 85, I don't even want to think about the odds of that happening - still, this is the ranked thread and into ranked I go.

Edit; 1 Win down, 1 to go to Gold III.

51 Minute game and I'm surprised we won as their Rammus really did a number on us early game, dude was everywhere whilst our Vi just counter-jungled and didn't gank all that much. She screwed us bot by diving Twitch as soon as she was 6, I was still 4 from dying twice to Rammus with mobi's so she got us double killed for nothing and Twitch was 5/1 by this point - thankfully he went BT over Bork, still no idea why as Bork woulda saved his ass come late game.

Their Malphite went full AP (full AP runes everywhere + full damage build) so his ult hurt.. but wasn't too rough after. They 4 manned bot at 14 minutes & we assumed they dragged, only they didn't and we took that + mid tower to get even.

Just became a game of Rammus catching people out after that with Yorick & Vi raging at everyone over them getting caught - Vi invading the enemy blue when all 5 of them were in mid as an example whilst we shoved bot out at our 2nd tier, which is a terrible idea by us anyway but I needed 11 so badly.

Came down to a Baron fight where we killed Baron & Malphite was first in, died during Ahri's charm as we blew everything on him, Twitch appeared and I saved my ulti for him so he died. Annie/Janna/Rammus ran and we got everyone but Janna in the chase yet somehow failed to take mid inhib.

Passive farming leads to Baron #2 where we lose Vi as she gets caught warding, Graves steals with his ult and we turtle our mid inhib as it's down till Vi's back and this continues till 3rd baron after we sneak another Dragon in. Baron 3 spawns up and they're there, we're closing in around them, Yorick goes in solo after I pop Shurel's and Locket, tanks 3 ults and Malphite misses his ult on me to stop me getting in as I flash + have mobi's, I completely airball my ult just glancing Janna which in hindsight, stopped her ulting Vi/Ahri/Yorick off of Twitch and won us the fight. We went on to win from there in another skirmish.

They lost despite having better late game for some weird reasons, notably Rammus going GA over FH to go with his Thornmail, Annie ulting Ahri after she zhonya'd at Baron #3, Malphite going full damage and personally, I think because Graves went Triforce OVER IE. He was hitting for 800~ alone with just BT/LW with the Tri procs, though Tri was his 5th item completed. Still not sure if it was worth it when you look at the full build (BT/Shiv/TF/Banshee's/Zerker's & LW) but considering he was able to solo Rammus till I ulti'd the team and came back to help him out all the time, guess it helped.

TLDR; - We got stomped early game, some weird calls from their team led to multiple Barons for us & good fights post 35 minutes.

The number of people I'm being paired with/paired against from Gold II also makes me think I might be skipping out Gold III, as I've not seen anyone from Gold III in over a month now.

 

On the other end of the spectrum, I lost my promos and the match after that.

Back to grinding.

Edit2: Won the first, lost the second, will play the last one tomorrow.

 

Gogo sometimes unreliable internet connection. Don't d/c in my last five matches, then d/c 4 times in a 27 minute match...

Didn't help that our third pick never spoke, and selected Ezreal after fourth pick had already locked in Lucian... then still didn't speak. Our fifth picked Nasus for jungle, then AFTER Nasus switches his summoner to Smite, Ezreal does too. Forces Nasus to support with jungle masteries/runes/smite, and Ez blames the team for it. Note that Ez was not chat-banned, as he spoke plenty of times in game.

Just a combination of unfortunate events.

 

Goodbye Gold 4. Our relationship was short, we'll hopefully never be together again, but we had fun for a while.

Finally gave in to trying to get my placement matches done... again. Got a Cho who calls top, an Irelia who doesn't speak the entire game except to say she's going afk, but has Smite. She proceeds to stay in top, Cho goes to jungle. I've got Karthus in mid against a Lux and an Udyr who barely leaves mid. Cho never bothers to come mid, Irelia goes afk half the match handing Kennen top tower early.

Our bot is Ashe/Leona who also allows the bot tower to drop early, feed the hell out of Vayne, then mostly just stay bot to attempt to farm. I wind up with Lux and Vayne in mid, Udyr pillaging both jungles due to our Irelia hanging out at fountain half the game, with Soraka and Kennen on Cho at top. Still rallied back for a late game push and almost won. Lost the last push, despite me diving into their team in a suicide rush, ulting while dead, taking most of them down to a sliver of health.... my team, who's mostly 75%+ health.... recalls. All of them. To deal with a single wave of minions at a full strength inhib. I threw the mouse down at that point and watched the other team come back full health, ignore my team mates completely, and just blast through the inhib and nexus like it was nothing.

 

Poor Middy. What the hell division is that?

 

Placement matches =/ I'll play one, get disgusted, then avoid it for a month, go back, win one, get disgusted next match, repeat.
