You just had to say it, now Raine is going to rain down on this thread with so many disparaging remarks and long winded deconstructions of every aspect of the game that we will all be taken in the flood.

 

Well, can we disparage the PAX footage for having barely a shred of dialogue? This is supposed to be an RPG?

Also, I think it's misleading to call the choice a "Qunari" - they're not going to let us follow the Qun? We'll be faithless I think - I'll be pleasantly surprised if they go through all the trouble of letting us roleplay an actual Qunari.

 

Considering it's still a work in progress, and somebody shot the footage on a portable, not bad. If they're telling the truth and don't intend to cut any of it, 8/10. I'm expecting compromises no matter what, though, because it's going to be simultaneously released on PC, lastgen, and nextgen consoles. This cannot be of the quality if would have been if they had committed solely to the nextgen/PC segment. They will be forced by hardware limitations alone to cut corners, especially if they intend to seriously try and make overmaps open cell. Bethesda promised us that with Skyrim as well, but was forced to back down on it because the 360 and PS3 literally could not handle the strain.

Even so, at the very worst, at least it will be a bad game that's really nice to look at.

 

The game look stunningly beautiful, and the animation during the talking scene was incredible. Wished it was a rogue character. So they said that the Kossith race is playable, so that means the human only protagonist is out, any other races in?

Also, the third companion, Vivienne, need more information.

For a game that's only going to be launched in more than 6 months, it looks very very good.

 

Elves and dwarves were already confirmed playable.

 

Huh. I've read somewhere that there were foing to be only 3 playable races, so I thought, Human, Kossith and elf/Dwarf, so it's going to be all four of them.

 

They're called Qunari. And they aren't confirmed. There being a racial choice is confirmed. Those choices being human, elf, and dwarf are confirmed. That they have considered the idea of "a fourth" is confirmed. Nothing else is.

 

Huh? Everything I can find says that Playable Qunari is confirmed. Also Kossith is the technical term for the horned race/culture that predated the Qunari. It's a term only used by the Tamassran, the Female Qun priestesses.

 

I know what Kossith means. That's why I'm telling you they aren't called that. No one calls them that but one really small group of obscure people. You don't call someone from Turkey an Ottoman, and the Qunari aren't Kossith. The Kossith don't exist anymore.

And if the Qunari are confirmed as a playable race, then you'd think someone would bother to cite the source when saying it.

So, no idea if you're talking about me not citing something, (Which I did, earlier) or about the source you and I both cited not actually citing anything definitive. So, I went and looked for anything that actually shows Bioware saying it, and so far this is the best I've found. Apparently from an interview with a producer named Cameron Lee.

 

If it hasn't been confirmed by more than one source, then it's not something we can take seriously. People are claiming that it was stated in the Bioware PAX Prime presentation, but there doesn't seem to be a recording of the livestream yet (and I checked). If they had, you'd think there would be more than one reporter/journalist saying it.

Confirmed then. Still trying to find a stream or recording that's up.

 

Some German game magazines also confirmed it. It also quotes Producer Cameron Lee saying that the PC is lead platform which makes sense because both PS4 and Xbox are a quite similar to it.
And Raine.. I believe that downgrading (for the older generation) is a lot easier than going the other way so it should be possible to get a great game even if it comes out on all platforms.

 

Eh, after using DA forums I ended up getting used to use only that term, specially after the Mark of the Assassin DLC.

I want to watch, but I want everything to be fresh and new when I play. D:

 

I just love it when the audiance starts cheering when shown such "new" functoins, such as, the ability to change armor and/or equipment on your companions, change the camera view, or the ability to craft items.

W.T.F. people? These are basic RPG elements, that should be included from the begging, and should not be mentioned at all. And they cheer, as if, BioWare have given them Holly Grail or some other shit.
