Harry is the Master of Death.

Albus Dumbledore was (as usual) completely correct - its just a metaphorical title signifying Harry isn't afraid of dying. However, being the Master is a troubling burden, a heavy weight upon the shoulders, because of all the idiots who take everything literally.

Story would consist of Harry's encounters with witches and wizards who think he has control over a personification of death. You could go serious with former Death Eaters kidnapping his family and demanding he resurrect Voldemort, or humorous with a series of one-shots where people keep asking him to do impossible things, with Harry getting increasingly exasperated when they don't listen to him that "Master of Death" doesn't really do anything functional.

Because if I had a penny for every Literal!MoD story I'd have quite a few pennies, but I haven't yet seen one that sticks to canon.

Hp/Paranoia crossover. Ministry is alpha complex.

    That's all.

    Some short ideas I had:

    -
HP Mirror Universe, where everything that can go bad, does. Not only bad for the good guys.
    -
Post-DH Harry travels to an AU where Dumbledore was never born.
    -
Harry is granted Shinigami Eyes after he survives that fateful night at Godric's Hallow.

I'd like to see a HP/Worm crossover with a post-MoD HP somehow finding his way there. Probably because i'm a sucker for those kind of stories.

I like it because its one of the only such crossovers where I can foresee Harry not being completely overpowered in every way over the people in the new verse since although HP magic is pretty ridiculous, there is plenty of scope for Worm-verse powers to circumvent of nullify it.

Also I think it would be a fun for Harry to go in and immediately come across the PRT and the standard propaganda about super-villains and slowly begin to realize that perhaps they aren't as great as first impressions would have you believe.

Instead of "Worm" I read it as "Worms" ;)

I have a pretty interesting — to me anyway — setting but it never really developed into a plot. It was a Lost/HP crossover which helped explain some of the loose ends that were never explained in the TV show.

For instance the man in black would be the first accidental Horcrux (This is part of my theory that Horcruxes predate Herpo the Foul since I think it would be difficult to test that you've successfully created a Horcrux if it's never been done before). Another thing would be the Island would be some sort of Aspidochelone which would explain its movement around the oceans as well as the idea that it would teleport away (a sort of apparition). I also figured that magic would have to act funky on the island, but I never could think of a good idea. There were other things, but I can't remember them right now.

I just couldn't get a plot working. I kind of wanted a school-age, motley group of Hogwarts students to end up on the Island in the mid-90s but I also wanted Voldemort and others to have been dead. It just never got anywhere interesting. I really didn't want to redo all of Lost with HP characters, for instance.

(This may or may not be inspired by the Road to Ninja Movie)

    Harry Potter Dream World.

AU starting from 1st year. A plot device causes some 'desires' in the Mirror of Erised to become true, altering reality. Ron and Harry are the only ones who remember the original timeline, as the change occurs when they both look into it.

In this new AU, James and Lily are alive, Harry never lived with the Dursleys and is not the Boy-Who-Lived. Ron however IS the BWL, his parents are dead and Ginny doesn't exist.

Ariana Dumbledore is alive, sane and her magic is okay, but Grindelwald rules the entire continental Europe since he and Dumbledore never dueled. Quirell stole the stone from Gringotts and restored Voldemort's body, beginning the second war.

Neville's parents are healthy and he's a confident and hot-blooded Gryffindor, always starting fights. Draco has a brother and a sister and is a rather shy boy. Hermione is a lot more girlish and doesn't like studying, while Lavender Brown is a Know-It-All bookworm. Fred and George are serious students while Percy is a known prankster. Hagrid was never expelled and is the magical creatures Professor, he also speaks normally.

    And so on, etc.

I didn't realize until you linked it how much I miss this game (though I had Worms World Party, the play is essentially the same).

Gotta love the variety of weapons available- it gives a bit of perspective on spell possibilities for Potter-verse magical combat (and their effect on the local environment!)

Warning: if you haven't read Worm, this post could have some spoilers.

On the HP/Worm (the web series, not the game) crossover, I think Harry would still be pretty overpowered. Not as much as he is in other crossovers, but the versatility of magic would be very powerful in the Worm universe. Think Eidolon, but with no upper limit to the amount of powers he can have at one time, and he isn't slowly losing his powers. I suppose his spells probably wouldn't be quite as powerful as Eidolon's powers, so it might be something of a quality vs. quantity situation.

I think it could still be pretty interesting, though. Imagine Harry showing up in the middle of an Endbringer attack and throwing everything he has at one of them to little result. Or how everyone would react to a Triumvirate level cape showing up out of nowhere, with no knowledge of the unofficial rules to the game. I imagine Harry would probably have a pretty big blind spot to a lot of the powers in the Worm universe too, especially some of the Tinker stuff considering the state of the wizarding world.

Lungs' updated his fic and this made me think about my take on HP/Bond.

    Opening sequence.

    Istanbul.

A meeting between group of dealers of illegal potions and their buyer. Before they can agree on the price, the buyer starts transforming into another person.

His name is Potter. Harry Potter.

The fight is short and brutal. One of the dealers manages to escape. Harry pursues him into a magical market.

The dealer steals flying carpet. Potter takes out his Firebolt.

They both fly between buildings until the dealer crashes into one of them.

Inside Potter can't find anybody. There is just a hidden beneath ruble rat.

    Potter captures it.

    It's Wormtail.

    Title: Flight of Death

Potter arrives to headquarters of Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

He is greeted by Susan Bones telling him that M is angry with him. Potter is not worried.

Madam Bones tells him that four international incidents in three months since she made him Double O (they can use Unforgivable without any restriction) wasn't what she expected from him. He was suppose to be a secret agent.

Potter argues that his primary job is to succeed in any mission he is given and that's what he does.

Bones admits that he is partially right and has another mission for him. One that is already a mess because it's connected to previous 007 who disappeared few decades ago.

Potter ask what was his name.

    Tom Riddle.

    Summary:

A big change is in that Harry didn't end up in Gryffindor, but in Hufflepuff. Susan became his best friends.

Few plots of the books happened, few didn't.

First one did with a change of who helped Harry.

Second one didn't. Additionally nobody knows who was Voldemort. Even Dumbledore only suspects that it could be Tom Riddle. He lacks any evidence to prove it.

Third and four did, but even though Harry was in the Tournament, Madam Bones' investigation stopped Voldemort from performing the ritual.

Fifth-seventh didn't happen. Instead Harry decided that it's time to stop simply reacting to Voldemort's plans and started training himself.

Few years later he became the youngest 00 in history.

That sounds cool and all, but something about a carpet-broom chase bugs me. Why not apparation?

So, this idea has been on my mind a lot recently, but I'm kind of unsure about it. Everybody has read those stories where Sirius takes Harry and runs away instead of going after Pettigrew, and they turn into one big happy family, and everything works out perfectly, the end. Well, what if it doesn't? Harry isn't behind the blood protection from his mother, so Death Eaters are constantly chasing them. Dumbledore believes that Sirius betrayed the Potters because, really, Peter isn't going to say any different, so Sirius has the Order/Ministry hot on his trail too. The only thing I'm struggling with is why Sirius wouldn't just approach Dumbledore to try to explain the situation.

And it could segue into another thing I've always sort of wanted to write. There's the rewrites of Harry's Hogwarts years, and everything always goes outstanding in them, for the majority of those rewrites. The thing is, again, Dumbledore had a plan. And for the most part, it really was a pretty good plan. Everything worked out relatively well, and the war was ended, albeit with some loss of life. Harry doesn't make it to Hogwarts because him and Sirius are on the run, and everything goes to hell. Voldemort gets a body three years early, and everything that can go wrong, does go wrong.

Granted, it's a bit grim dark, and you'd have to do it right to avoid all the cliches that come with that, but it's always interested me.

The problem with those types of fics is all the beginning exposition. I think if you wanted to do it properly, you'd have to start with a hook action scene. At least, the beginning exposition is always why I don't read that particular category. But good luck if you attempt it.

    HP/ASOIAF Crossover idea

Sansa Stark, while a prisoner with the Lannisters, gets lost and finds a diary in some hidden alcove beneath the Red Keep. It's Tom Riddle's diary.

In this AU Voldemort was defeated and all his horcruxes -except for the diary- were destroyed. With no one to resurrect him, Voldemort's spirit faded with the passage of time. Eons have now passed and the world of ASOIAF is present day.

This is more of a challenge then plot bunny. I can see Sansa, like Ginny, pouring her soul into the diary. There might be a language barrier or maybe Sansa isn't the first person from Westeros to write in the diary. Slowly the diary will take control of her body and make her do things like it did with Ginny in COS.
