Indeed. SIU is a freaking cocktease. But I enjoyed the chapter nonetheless. Kinda relieved about the whole Ignition Weapon situation.

 

The over the top dramatic reactions are starting to creep me out a little.

 

Just realize that SIU is probably going to troll the fuck out of us with the resolution to this chapter's cliffhanger. These three are very likely not to get any of what they're looking for out of Viole.

Souma: I agree about having wanted a break from Tootsuki. But I guess Souma needs some asshole student elite guy to feud with in the next arc, since Erina is becoming less of an actual antagonist with each appearance and has her own fish to fry with that cousin of hers regardless.

Kingdom: I actually don't care much for the introduction of the Typical Shounen Rival(s). I guess it's not out of place, since it only makes sense that there will be other young studs attempting to grab the same spot Xin is aiming towards, but I have a long-standing general dislike of rival characters. Hoping Xin pulls down something suitably epic this campaign.

 

Kingdom's alright, but it has the problem every time I read it of reminding me that Ravages of Time exists and that I'd much rather be reading that.

 

I admit that Ouhon is a bit annoying. I find Mouten to be relatively fun, though, if oddly informal at times.

Basically exactly as expected.

As of the latest raws, Shin has grown strong enough to one on one Houken, and has been promoted to three thousand man commander.

There's a lot of stuff in this manga that doesn't fit with what's written down historically. But I honestly can't bring myself to care. There's plenty of action, interesting court intrigue, and while Shin is almost painfully like a typical shounen hero, he's racked up an impressive body count that gives his loud boasts some weight.

Good stuff, this manga.

 

This week's Beelzebub was kinda... meh.

Ah well. It'd probably be better next week.

 

Shokugeki no Souma updated again.

Back to school. The break from Tootsuki seemed too short and I wanted more Nikumi. Just a stage setting chapter this week.

 

Yep, here's our new big bad. I wonder how many of the other Top Ten he'll be at odds with.

 

It's a shounen fighting manga, so probably all of them.

 

I would hope that we move on to more interesting things before Souma has to have an arc dedicated to beating each member of the Elite Ten.

 

I mean people he'll be on bad terms with. The guy in his dorm, for example, doesn't seem like a massive ego out to crush Soma. He'll have his own objectives and plots but he doesn't seem 'evil,' in the context, barring future twists.

So it's gonna be the Tenri route after all... maybe.

 

Mostly because what is written down is kind of vague. In the vein of "This guy went here and conquered X in this year"

Also according to Turnip Farmers(guys who are translating it and putting it on mangafox) they'll be caught up with the latest raws by the first week of January or so at their current rate of 3 chapters every 3-4 days(Thursdays and Sundays)

Fun fact: Kyokai(Quang Lei) is mentioned in the historical record twice. Except She is actually He and is another general so there's that.

 

Speaking of Kingdom, three more chapters up on Batoto today. Hoping Shin (I might as well start using his Japanese name because I'm not going back to find the Chinese for everyone else) gets the kill on this guy. Have the feeling Ouhon is going to snatch his glory somehow though. I could probably go to the raws and spoil myself easily enough, but I've resisted the urge thus far and will continue to do so.

New breaker chapter.

I am glad the plot seems to be moving on finally, unless it another hospital chase scene begins.

 

As awesome as "Fuck your shit! Sunwoo clan!" the arc is, I really wish it had been shorter. It lost a lot of the impact by taking so long to cover.

At least now we'll see how the change in Shioon's mentality effects things in regards to their response to S.U.C.
