Well, we could see what happened to shinobi who were sucked of chakra. They died.

It is possible that devil fruit gave Kaguya and Sage chakra pathway system to actually mold their energies.

 

Wouldn't it be great if Naruto ended with the world loosing chakra and everyone being normal again?
However on a serious note I agree with other posts Senju and Uchiha where both born from the god tree and I'll bet the Uzumaki clan has the Sage's body. I'm at a loss as to how NAruto will beat this though. Maybe he will eat a fruit and who wants to bet Sasuke will try to fight him for it?

It's canon. You die when you run out of chakra; suffice to say, chakra is necessary for life.

The chakra became a part of them; a part of their genetic makeup. When bijuu are ripped from Jinchuuriki's they die - it's the same concept. That 'borrowed' chakra is now a part of their souls.

EDIT: Mangastream's translation, as usual, is much clearer on the issue of the chakra wielding princess. She gained enough power to manipulate the world, and that power was passed to her son.

 

True I forgot about that... It probably means Naruto will have some control over the Jubi. Of course as much as I like Naruto he isn't particularly brilliant and won't figure it out until the power bites him in the ass.

 

So Madara knew all of this information before attaining the Rinnegan? Does that mean there's even more information on the tablet? It might also mean that Sasuke knows all this too and that may be how he's trying to erase the past or whatever. Glad to see Sarutobi's still around. Maybe he'll get a moment after all.

 

I really enjoyed this chapter. However, I feel like Sasuke is about to get the Rinnegan. He needs a powerup and this is basically all that is left for him to get that could make him relevant. I could also see Amaterasu being effective on the tree I guess.....maybe? I don't know. I am just spit balling right now.

They pretty much already tried that with the Amaterasu Rasenshuriken. I guess Naruto could add Senjutsu to it now that they know it works, but I really don't see it taking out the entire god tree.

Speaking of which, I've been wondering why Jubito didn't Tsukiyomi the moon as soon as he gained complete control, and now I'm wondering even more. Dude has an attack that can wipe out everyone in five panels through divine chakra snatching, so why did he even bother humoring Naruto and the Edo!Kage for like ten chapters?

 

@ Menace it's how Kishimoto works. He probably could have done Naruto in 200 chapters but instead has dragged it on.
Naruto will talk the God tree down with his Friendship No Jutsu.

My question though is why are the edo tensei people still alive and fighting on the tree? Shouldn't they have disapeared because they are chakra constructs?

Ha! Maybe Kishi is a lurker? I remember a story on FFN YEARS ago that described Kushina's appearance perfectly. She was even a Jinchuriki and the Uzumaki were seal experts. All before Kishi revealed this as canon.

Some sort of joke about "it's happening" and "the happening" because of the killer tree. I'm too tired to make it.

I think it was supposed to be implied that the Rinnegan had allowed him to read the tablets as no one else had managed to, learning history that had been forgotten even by those who kept it because they could not read it (read: esotericism). That or it's the EMS and Sasuke knows too. Is this why Madara went crazy and devoted himself to fighting Hashirama?

As far as how the Sage gave chakra to everyone else, it's likely that he changed humanity by doing so. Maybe after he did that, they did need chakra to live, or their lifeforce was so bound up in their use of chakra they couldn't go without it.

EDIT: Damn, that was 1000...how anticlimactic.

 

Yeah, I'm still putting all my bets on Jiraiya being the final villain of this series.

It was Madara's dream that Jiraiya took on, that of world peace. He trains Nagato, where on the other hand the real Madara takes on Tobito under his wing.

Nah. That's not it. We know that Itachi read the tablet, and he told Sasuke to do the same. More than likely, you just need to Mangekyou or even more likely, just a Mature Sharingan.

Maybe more information becomes visible the more powerful your eyes become?

 

I thought that was already canon? A mature Sharingan sees info about Mangekyou, and then the Mangekyou more (I'm assuming info about EMS), and the Rinnegan is probably about the Juubi and the Sage

 

I liked it, especially since the Sage wasn't an Uzumaki, read too many bad fics like that.
