That's what I had thought as well. That each stage told you about how to awaken the next till you got to the Rinnegan which told you the history of shinobi. However Madara only got the Rinnegan after fighting Hashirama at the VotE. In this chapter he implies that he only went crazy because he learned of the history with his EMS. So you'd only need the EMS to read it all or there is even more information that the Rinnegan will show. If the EMS shows everything then that may be why Madara is so sure of himself still. I don't think Tobi's ever looked at the tablet with anything beyond his MS. The tablet may have a way to stop the Juubi on it which means that Sasuke may have seen that as well.

 

Here is an interesting thought. If chakra is passed down from generation to generation since Kaguya. Does that mean that SoSP only had the rinnegan after sealing Jubi?
As for Sasuke knowing something about the Jubi on the tablet. I'm not so sure Sasuke claimed he had never even heard of Madara at one point. But we have yet to see Orochimaru and the 5 Kage if anyone knows Ill bet is Oro.

I don't see why that would be necessary. He already had the power of the Juubi in him so I wouldn't be surprised if he was born with it.

That's what he deciphered that he bothered telling Hashirama. This chapter clearly implies that he knew the history of the Sage at that point. It's not specified if SoSP's mother had the rinnegan but if he was born with them wouldn't she have had them as well?

As for Sasuke stating that he didn't know who Madara was... It means that Sasuke didn't pay attention to clan history. I thought it was also specified that Sasuke didn't know about EMS until Itachi mentioned it and he certainly didn't understand until Tobito told him how to do it.
Also when did Sasuke have time to finish reading the tablet he never went back to Konoha with EMS until Orochimaru brought him.

 

She very well could have had it. Then again the Sage was conceived with the power. She was already an adult when she came into it.

I still don't see what your point is. Him going back with Orochimaru is what I'm talking about. Sharingan seems to give a photographic memory. All Sasuke would need is a glance and he has the thing memorized.

That's assuming that the bijuu the villages had in the current era are the ones they always had. I figure Hashirama gave each bijuu to a different village/country but three of them were eventually taken by Iwa, Kumo and Kiri.

If he's not and the Shinjuu is out of him, how the hell is he still alive? All the other Jins (except Kushina) died when the bijuu was taken out of them.

 

I think he's still a jinchurriki. The form has manifested outside him, just seperately from his body like those black ball thingies. He still has control of it and he needs to be in control of it to execute the Moons Eye plan thing.

I think though, that Madara is somehow about to wrest control of it from him. Its been hinted at enough times...
