wtf?! This chapter is too boring. No action or even something interesting.

 

Well, it does seem that Shikamaru just died. Thats another non-fodder character that bites the dust, so that happened atleast.

Also, was I the onlyone really annoyed by the fodder. They have contributed absolutely nothing positive to this whole thing. The only effect they have had, is that Naruto has wasted a shitload of chakra trying to keep them alive.

And whats their reaction? They don't even bother trying to attack the tree. Instead they just want to lie down and die.

Oh, and they are also complaining about Hashirama being an Edo Tensei, despite the fact that just a few chapters ago, Obito demonstrated that Edo Tenseis are now just as vulnerable to being destroyed, as normal humans are. This despite the fact that the guy is doing everything in his power to protect them. Selfish gits.

The war would have gone a LOT better if Shikaku had just ordered the fodders to go home.

Also, should the tree not have drained Sasuke dry the moment he activated Susanoo?

And what did Madara mean when he said Hachibi and Kyuubi have to be inside the flower. Was he talking about the tentacle and the two brothers. Or did Madara actually mean that he has to physically take Bee and Naruto and throw them inside the flower?

 

This was a pretty good chapter, all considered. Someone died, Karin once again proved how much in need of mental help she is, Sasuke actually did something, moar Hashirama, plus interaction with the rest of the Kages.


I'm pretending the Mass Care Bear Stare no Jutsu at the end didn't happen.

 

I wonder if Kakashi is going to make an appearance or is he now eternally forgotten like Yamato

 

If you're gonna get killed by an oncoming truck, there's not much point running towards it.

Hashirama's dead. He's lived his life and came back whilst theirs is about to be cut short. I'd say it's an understandable reaction towards someone who's essentially a ghost.

He did it too fast, I think.

Kakashi had an appearance about 15 chapters ago... hardly forgotten.

Shikamaru dying was pretty unexpected.

Everyone seeing Narutos past was pretty awesome, it connected them all to him in a way.

 

Shikamaru is still alive and Sakura is rushing to heal him.

For the Tree to bloom it need all bijuu chakra. Or 15 minutes to regenerate it.

 

Not much point running towards it no. But if you shoot at the truck, you might hit the driver, or possibly a tyre, causing the truck to miss you.

The fodders could all start bombarding the tree with every long-range ninjutsu they have. At worst, their situation would not change in the slightest. But at best, they might hurt the tree and either give Naruto&Sasuke an opening or atleast delay the blooming of that flower.

I guess. Though you could make the same argument for most Konoha shinobi who died and had their souls summoned back by Nagatos Rinne Tensei. Hashiramas soul is no longer in the "pure world", so in a way he IS alive. The only difference between Hashirama and most of the Konoha shinobi is that his body is slightly different. If the genjutsu activates, then Hashirama will be trapped in it too, just like everyone else.

Faster than Naruto in BM enhanced by SM? If Naruto was caught and drained, then Sasuke should have been too. That tree is FAST. Maybe Susanoo is somehow linked to the tree or something and thats why its ignoring Sasuke?

 

Or maybe Kishimoto needed Sasuke doing something, and wouldn't let pesky things such as already established facts stop him.

 

Well, Sasuke and Naruto have entered their Zords/Gundams/Mechas and are gearing up to fight the huge construct of the bad guy while everyone was hit by a huge friendship/never give up flashback....

You know, it is a bad sign when I look back at the Power Rangers and think that they did a much better job at this than Naruto did.

Doubt Shikamaru is going to die here, I mean, so far, HE didn't have a flashback.

What's up with the shinobi alliance soldiers? They have been fighting undead and immortal legends, eldritch abominations and what pretty much amounts to a physical god the whole time and now they are giving up? Granted, they haven't been doing that well before, mostly depending on the help of a select few but still. Seems a bit random to give up right now. Maybe it is because I can't take any of this seriously, but really, it seems arbitrary that they give up right now, and not earlier when they had just as good a reason of giving up. Especially since they are high on Naruto's special chakra.

So, yeah, chapter was as expected.

 

Shikamaru has a flash back of Asuma dying, I hope he died tbh. Simply because it would actually be a shock. Susanoo being connected to the tree would be interesting. Overall this chapter was a resounding "meh"

 

I think he's saying that the reason it's blooming so slow is because there was so little of the Kyuubi and Hachibi but enough for it to work.

Or maybe Obito wasn't looking at Sasuke and he got a free hit in.

 

Naruto sobbing and then everyone feeling Naruto's heart made me want to close the chapter pretty bad. Motivational speeches all around, just shut up and fight.

 

Really? The main character who Never. Ever. Gives up had to have a pep-talk from the traitorous quitter that jumps on every shortcut handed to him?

Fuck this.

 

It makes sense that Sasuke wouldn't care about the massive amount of people dying around him.

 

I think it's because this god tree really undermines what they're capable of. Bad enough that they've had it banged into them that their ancestors are capable of far more than they are, that they were being beaten up by an eldritch abomination and keep getting thrown into situations where they can do little-to-nothing. Now that abomination just reached its most powerful form that is literally feeding on them and devours what is essentially the source of all their powers. What's the point in fighting it when touching it is death and ninjutsu would apparently only make it stronger?

And they were giving up before hand anyway until Shikamaru stepped in but this basically stomped all over that budding belief that they could still do something. In the face of all that, that genjutsu probably sounds a fair bit tempting. Better than having the life ripped out of you.

It's like comparing someone who's been resuscitated to someone who died a few decades ago and came back as a zombie. It'd be hard for them to believe that the reanimated are in the same boat when they don't belong in the impure world anymore and don't even run out of chakra.

Hell, aren't Hashirama and Madara fighting in the middle of the trees where anyone living would already be dead?

We're talking about how Sasuke could use the Susanoo on the tree, aren't we? Not when the tree first grew and Naruto was captured by it. IIRC, Naruto was at ground zero whilst Sasuke was further away (and has special eyes) so he could get away. For the Susanoo, Sasuke just had to dive in and out before it could torn away from him and he had the Kyuubi's chakra boosting him still.

He's human. He can still get disheartened and, unlike Sasuke, he actually gives a shit that a bunch of his comrades just got murdered.

 

See, I never got that complaint. Naruto had just as many shortcuts as Sasuke, probably even more. Only his were a bit more disguised under the cover of a three day training which, to me, is every bit as ridiculous as the MS thing.

Especially seeing that Naruto went from deadlast who never, ever trained to just as strong as the talented kid who trained seriously for years in about 2 months.

 

That list and the room in general. From what i can make of it, that's 10km runs, 100 sit-ups, push-ups, and other miscellaneous stuff I can't remember or read. That's Naruto's training schedule.

I don't know man, but that seems pretty hard-working to me.

 

For those who don't know, that's actually his training room in his apartment. I don't think it's shown in the manga but it's mentioned in the first fanbook.
