So I know we have a video clips thread in the Humor Mill, but this thread is intended for recommending Channels (and a couple videos to give an impression of it) to subscribe too. So, post what you like.

(Also, I know the video clips thread is in Humor Mill, but I figured this was a better place since it is video stuff and not humor centered.)

    I watch mostly educational/sciency stuff.

My favorite channel is CGP Grey. He does really interesting videos about lots of stuff, but mostly easy to understand geopolitical relationships. My favorites of his are: The Secret City of London (along with part 2), The European Union, and Holland vs. The Netherlands.

MinutePhysics is cool, despite how I usually don't like physics stuff. Why is the Sky Dark at Night? and The Origin of Quantum Mechanics.

And, having no problem with dead things, I like TheBrainScoop which is done by Emily who works at the Chicago Field Museum and used to work at the University of Montana Zoological Museum and it's mostly about specimens at those two places. (Be warned there is a gross factor on some of these. They will have warnings at the beginning of the video though.) Owls and Pangolins.

The Vlogbrothers are also pretty cool. They are two brothers, Hank and John Green, and are involved in bunch of different youtube channels.* Hank is an executive producer of TheBrainScoop and he also started VidCon, the youtube convention. They Vlog back and forth to each other twice a week and their videos are usually interesting and/or funny. Thoughts from places: Small Town America, Syria in Five Minutes, Why are American Health Costs so High?,

    *They are involved in:
Crashcourse (Which offers online series in basic Chemistry, Biology, World History, Literature and US History.)
SciShow (Bunch of videos on all kinds of science stuff.)
The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (A modern, youtube adaptation of Pride and Prejudice)
MentalFloss (Youtube channel of the magizine. Random lists of cool things.)
    TheBrainScoop (See above)

What you don't watch cooking channels?

Sorted Food. A bunch of Brits making delicious looking food. Genuinely entertaining to watch. Sample video

And of course there's always Jamie Oliver. Do I even have to say more?

    Lets see ...
ArtOfTheProblem - Explains how encryption works and other stuff.
CorridorDigital/Sam&Niko/Freddiew/NODE - Makers of Video Game Highschool and lots of other cool videos.
    Foodwishes - A cooking channel.
Khanacademy - Lots of educational videos.
Runnyrunny - Another cooking channel, mostly japanese stuff.
Tested - Adam Savage from Mythbusters doing interesting stuff (building things, costumes, props etc.)
AweMe - A blacksmith making fictional weapons in real life (Minecraft sword, Klingon Bat'leth, Wolverine's claws etc.)

JefMajor/Qieth/Kikoskia - Couple of gamers channels.

ViHart. She works at KhanAcademy. She makes math superfun! :3

    SmarterEveryDay. Learn something cool everyday.

Google Tech Talks. More fun for developers, but you should watch them if you're interested in Technology regardless.

NextDayVideo Mostly just dev-related tech talks and stuff.

    TED. TED Talks on youtube.

    Science at NASA - Space!

I also follow some Universities like MIT, UCBerkeley and Yale. They put out great course videos. :)

PS. Can someone rec. me some good comedy channels? I've grown tired of watching Carlin and Louis CK standups.

Hennessy Youngman does funny as fuck art reviews. Here's his piece on Damien Hirst,

isosine does really good mashups/remixes. Korn and Taylor Swift - We are coming undone. Ke$ha and Lamb of God - Tik Tok Redneck. Pendulum, Zedd, B.o.B, Rob Swire - Claritycraft.

nostrilshorts. Irish channel, so most people here might not get the humour or whatever. Most of his videos are piss-takes of this really shit Irish musician called Daniel O'Donell whose audience consists entirely of elderly women with colonoscopy bags. DOD - Flick your bean. U2 are shit.

Total Biscuit. Good commentaries and game reviews. WTF is... Magicka? Super Meatboy Wipe-a-thon 3000.

    Laci Green. Sex ed thing.

Well, they don't do traditional comedy, but Two Best Friends Play (TheSw1tcher) is probably the funniest channel on my subs list. Two guys that play video games and do hilarious live coms, plus a third and fourth guy depending on the game. They're awesome.

A good consistently funny channel is the one that does "Honest Trailers":

    Screen Junkies.

    Here's the honest trailers playlist.

You hit most of the ones I'd recommend. CGP Grey and the Green Brothers' channels are awesome.

Which doesn't leave me with much else to mention. So, if you like cosplay and music videos, acksonl has put together some pretty good cosplay music videos over the years.

Oh, and if you like watching controversial videos, and you scratch your head when "misandry" pops up as an error in your spellchecker, you might want to swing by Karen Straughan's channel.

I'll post my collection of gaming channels later, but I want to point out that John Green is also quite possibly the best Young Adult author out there as well as having entertaining and informative videos.

Hmm, well, since I'm on the music review side, I'll toss up a couple of channels that I find entertaining enough:

The Needle Drop - the biggest music reviewer on Youtube, who covers a lot of material and updates almost daily. His tastes tend toward the eclectic side, and thus it means he won't cover a huge amount of mainstream material, but he's fair enough and explains his points reasonably well.

Coverkillernation - yeah, his production quality isn't great, but he knows his metal and he's articulate and intelligent enough to back up his points. Really needs to do some work on production, though.

Oh, and then there's, uh, my channel. Please subscribe and all that.

Oh, and if you're a fan of rap music and you aren't listening to Hopsin, you should be.

For comedy there's some sketches by BritaNick. Hillarious guys. Recently they got small roles in Whedon's Much Ado, and some of their sketches feature Nathan Fillion and Whedon himself.

You do - that no-scoping video has about 5,000 more views than all of mine combined.

    /me doesn't mind, he knows it's a slow process

Yeah, we definitely need to do that soon, for awhile it seemed silly to have playlists like 'Spoiler Free' or 'House History' with only say 2 episodes in that category, but we are past that point now. TBH I hadn't thought of that in months, thanks.
