I disagree. Kakashi is, probably, going to deal the final blow to Obito. They share a history, after all.

 

Yeah its a perfect setup, Kakashi gets Obito, Madara and Hashirama get to literally fight for eternity and that leaves Sasuke vs Naruto. All the survivors of the war can be fighting Team Hebi/Orochimaru and Zetsu as an excuse for their one on one. ...wait are there any Zetsu left at all?

 

Naruto vs Sasuke will probably be over the Hokage position, and when Sasuke loses, history will repeat itself. Or they will both die ><

 

Too repetitive imho. Kakashi already gave Obito a fatal blow during their battle in Kamui-Land (which I think was their final confrontation), then Obito fled and saved himself by becoming Juubi jinchuuriki. Heck, Minato got in one blow too before that, thanks to the seal he placed on Obito during the Kyuubi attack, sorta avenging both himself and Kushina, so both Kakashi and Minato have got their pound of flesh so to speak. For Kakashi to just appear with no senjutsu, to deal the final blow on Juubito, given the previous fight, would be absurd.

I could accept something similar to Kakuzu though. That is to say, Naruto defeats Obito but does not kill him (since for some reason Kishi does not seem to want Naruto really killing other humans). So Kakashi will finish Obito off via a mercy killing. But I don't buy that Obito will actually be defeated by Kakashi.

Naruto will Talk No Jutsu him to giving up, Obito will resurrect everyone (but Shikamaru will stay dead, cause being resurrected would be too troublesome).

 

I dont think Shikamaru is dead yet. He was almost out of Chakra but then Ino connected the shinobi and Naruto snapped out of his funk supplying everyone with a new dose of chakra

 

When Shikamaru got drained, the "bijuu mode connection" also got drained. So no, I think he is very really dead.

 

Extremely unlikely (IMHO). If Shikamaru had died, we would have had reactions from the other rookies&Naruto. Heck, since Shikamaru seems to be a favourite of Kishi, we would probably have got a flashback scenes off his life, had he truly died.

He was likely close to death, but with Karin, Sakura and Tsunade on the scene, and Shikamarus death not hyped/explicitly pointed out, I would say its very unlikely that he is dead, or for that matter that he will truly die.

 

So give an explanation as to why the ninja's chakra was consumed, why Katsuyu's chakra was consumed, but the bijuu mode chakra wasn't when it has been shown it is possible when Naruto was drained.

For Shikamaru to live would be an arse pull.

considering the reaction to Neji's death I think Shikamaru's death would have more impact and reaction from the characters. He seemed near death then Ino opens up a channel and everyone feels Naruto's chakra. I think Shikamaru got a life saving dose

 

This week's chapter kinda felt like a waste of time, to be honest. At least Shikamaru is confirmed alive and we know what Kakashi was up to.

 

Agreed. It was more of a filler. Nothing significant happened apart from Shikamaru being confirmed alive and Kakashi now ready to join battle.

 

lol. Why Hashirama decided to use Kyuubi's chakra? He is Edo with unlimited chakra, right?
On another topic. It was said that during first day/night of fighting more than 40k shinobi died. After that Madara was revived... So how many ninja all Great Villages have now? 10k? It would be understandable if they will unite now.

 

Oh? I thought Naruto's classmates acknowledging him becoming Hokage and wanting to be his advisors was pretty telling. Sure, there was no action, but there have been worse chapters. Stupid Messiah thing, though.

 

Quality increase like SM. And moar chakra is always a good thing.

 

A boring chapter, really, but I wasn't expecting much in the first place. I liked the part when Hashirama said 'let's cut down that big tree', though. Kinda ironic.
