What is this chatter about you lot having Charmanders and the other first gen starters? Are they in the tall grass now?

 

After you reach the second town/first major city and get to the pokemon lab, you fight the professor and steal one of his pokemon. He has all the gen 1 starters.

 

What the actual fuck. Seems weird he doesnt just give it to you llike in normal pokemon games.

 

You don't really steal it, you beat him in a pokemon battle and gives you it for beating him. Its given as a reward not taken from the Professor by force.

 

So that guy who gifted me all the Kalos starters + Tyrantum? I was trading powers with him again last night and he gave me that other fossil pokemon.

Wonder Trading so good.

 

I ran into a shiny Hoppip in a horde. Killed it though... Made sure to always have thunder wave and false swipe in my party since then. Ah well, not like I would have used it anyway.

Gotta say I'm loving the super training. Being able to EV train my team as I go is great, means I won't have to ditch them post game. And IVs being set to max for internet battles? Awesome for me, since I never quite cared enough to IV breed. Far as I'm concerned this removes a massive barrier to online battling.

Just got to Lumiose the for the first time and the girl says 'Welcome to Lumiose - The City of Light!' and all I can think of is Harry Potter and The Natural 20's 'CITY OF LIGHT CITY OF MAGIC'

 

Lumiose's gorram Clothing Shop. How in the hell do you get past the "We're too French for you to shop here." attendants?

 

You have to do stuff around Lumiose like battling in cafes, buying stuff, and getting haircuts. Keep doing that until they let you in.

 

You can battle in cafes? I've gone in there and people have just yammered on about Furfrou and such.

 

Too bad. Guess this won't be the generation where I explode onto the competitive Pokemon battling scene. Still, we got super training for EVs at least. So I can still be happy about that.

 

Some cafes are regular places where people chat, but others are sit-down restaurants that require you to pay to battle. Keep going in-and-out of the places with the cafe symbol and you'll eventually find them.

 

Here's what got me in:

Visit every cafe.
Battle at 1 star and 2 star restaurants.
Get a part-time job at the hotel.
No clothes bought.

Also: You can drag menu items to rearrange your start menu in any order you'd like, apparently.
