Update: Skitter OP.

Anyone else feel like Skitter is going to try to cross network Teacher and the Yangban? Throw in conscripting a bunch of the most powerful capes together and maybe she stands something of a chance.

 

Yeah, I figure she'll get the Teacher, the Yangban, and any other good Trumps she can get. It'd make me happy, although it might be ultimately pointless, if Teacher taught Skitter how to read and/or talk again; or if Skitter figured out how to use other people to read or talk for her.

 

She's going to get Teacher to give her a Thinker power, probably her multi-tasking ability and possibly the ability to communicate again. After that she's going to hit the Yangban and wreck all kinds of shit. Can anyone remember if there's a range extender in the Yangban?

EDIT: There's a power magnifier. Likely Taylor's going after him especially.

 

She doesn't have to control Scion. Her new power lets her basically take inventory of anyone in her range. Once Scion enters her range, she'll know exactly what his 'power' is (if it can be relegated to a singular tense). Then, it's just a matter of informing the remaining heroes.

Personally, my guess is that Scion's insta-regeneration is perception based somehow.

 

The Endbringers aren't and never were humans while Scion built a body and mind with the intention of simulating humans.

I think it unlikely that she could control him since all he would have to do is stop the simulation but it should affect him to some extent.

 

So Skitter is barely human now. Different kind of monstrous I suppose than what we might have been expecting.

 

Holy Shit. I can see why the PRT wanted to keep the extent of Master powers under wraps now. They're freaking terrifying.

 

This can't end well...poor Taylor and poor Dragon. Even poor Defiant.

It's really distressing to see Taylor lose her ability to communicate and understand human language. Only a matter of time until she loses all of her humanity.

 

So wait..was Teacher speaking English when she could understand him? or was she slowly losing her ability to understand English completely and now its completely gone?

 

Essentially that. She didn't notice that she was periodically slipping in and out of comprehension of English and, rather, just assuming he started talking another language.

The one thing I'm a bit curious about is that seeming lack of Contessa at Teacher's pad.

 

Teacher only met Contessa after Taylor had visited him.

 

That's because the Contessa interlude hasn't happened yet, chronologically speaking. This latest interaction between Teacher and Skitter is what will drive him to the ruins of Cauldron and eventually to Contessa.

I really hope that whatever happens Taylor doesn't actually destroy Dragon because that will just be pretty horrible.

The more I see what Taylor is losing the more I want her to come out alive from this in the end. She can retire somewhere quiet with Lisa and Rachel and just finally live a life. She deserves a happy ending..too bad this is Worm and there are no happy endings ever.

 

Does someone else get the feeling Taylor is going to become the next entity and thus restart the circle? making the ultimate sacrifice of turning herself into a monster so the rest of humanity can live on.

And even bigger question.... can Scion shoot lasers from down there?

 

Plot Twist! She does get a happy ending. Ah ha ha ha who the fuck am I kidding.

 

Yeah, ever since the passenger started getting control, I thought that her becoming the next partner to Scion is increasingly likely. It seems fairly clear that they'll never be able to actually kill him or hurt him enough to drive him away, and I remember them discussing the chances of him gaining a new partner being a possible solution.

 

Wouldn't Glaistig Uaine be jealous? I thought that "Scion's bride" was a role she was seeking for herself.

 

I really doubt that's going to happen.

A shard is just a fraction of the entity. Taylor could have hundreds under her control and she wouldn't have anywhere near enough to match the entity. More than that, it wouldn't change her species and I think that the entity's essence is more than just shards.

Scion's partner met up with a lone third entity shortly before going to Earth, so I have hopes that it'll be the one that Scion partners up with.

Question: in the event of Scion gaining a partner and his subsequent departure, do you think parahumans will retain their shards?
