The ruleset is just there to prevent people who would join only to win games and never give anything back.

Besides, isn't the point of doing giveaways is to gift games to other people, not about hoarding games for yourself?

You can have more than 300?

 

I store excess points in the long term GAs and when I want to reclaim those points I use the "View Entries" screen to "cash them in" so to speak. The ideal is to never hit 300 points; all points should be spent or saved. Reaching 300 points means that you've begun wasting them.

The most entries I've had is 190+, though right now it's only 125. If you assume that the average entry is 10 points, then I'm looking at approx 1250 stored.

Nice, I used up all my banked points on the halloween giveaways and I still don't have enough. 3 pages worth of giveaways ending on Halloween used up all of them.

To be fair, unless there is a massive sale going on, where I earned 300 points in the time I might be asleep, or at school, it's pretty rare that I've sat on 300.

 

Yes. I suspect it's a hardware fault related to my laptop's audio [the issue began when I unplugged headphones from the jack - maybe static damaged something]. Steam does something when it starts that triggers it.

Games that don't require Steam [eg. CK2, GOG games] work without a problem.

I've got Steam installed on an older desktop computer when I need it [eg. SG], but it doesn't have a 3D card. CK2 is alright on it tho.
