Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C,

Really interesting story detailing some history of Magical Britain in the HP world around the time magic was discovered. A tad cheesy at parts and drags a bit, plus OCs everywhere (well written OCs, mind you, but OCs nonetheless). But definitely worth checking it out if you enjoy canon-compliant world building or have a few hours to kill.

Proof that the Canadian public education system is actually worse than the American public education system?

    Thank you Nocturnesthesia.

It's also on PatronusCharm, which I think is a lot more pleasant on the eyes to read from.

I remember reading it around 2 years ago and from what I can recall, it was a good timesink. As mentioned, the characters are well written, with the main protagonist being an archetypical reluctant hero, but also becoming more competent as the story progresses.

I'd tentatively say it could even potentially be library material.

Summary: Harry and Hermione are gifted a handwritten book at the beginning of Fourth Year. A book that reveals horrible truths about the world they live in. Prepare for a tougher Harry and a battle focused on the Ministry.

The story starts out well, has a good idea about magical contracts, their effect on the government and people, and interesting magic. However, and this prevents me from recommending the story for the library, the quality/ideas in the story take a deep dive around the middle, and the last couple of chapters don't seem to fit the story. Also, somehow the starting idea of the story seems to be lost around the same time.

Throwing Out the Script by Formulaic

One year into Voldemort's rein, a confrontation with the Dark Lord catapults the Boy-Who-Lived into 1975. Will he be content to sit around and let the past repeat itself? Absolutely not. Time Travel. Not very HBP or DH compliant. Awesome!Harry. Eventual Harry/Lily/Narcissa/Bellatrix. Not a smutfic.

Only one chapter so far, but a promising start to a potential high-quality guilty pleasure fic inspired by Shezza's Future Remapped fic. The technical writing is moderately good and there's some half-decent humour in there.

On the negative side the author straight out says they don't have a particular plan, and it's obviously a bit fanboyish in pairing. Still, anything with young Lily in has my interest. He's also gone a bit over the top with some of the fic elements such as the whole horcrux thing.

I missed the part where the author mentions he has no plan for the fic. The first chapter was interesting enough, and he does have high ambitions that would be wonderful to see if the author can pull off.

    Will follow for now.

    I gets it.

I wouldn't exactly call 3 possible routes "no plan". There IS a big difference between that and "LOL, I have no idea what I'm doing."

This is a really good what might-have-been and has fantastic character development. The end is a bit depressing.

Harry ends up getting caught by Death Eaters and it is revealed Snape killed James.

Fic about how Luna in the grip of Death Eaters would be. The author has written her flawlessly.

Thoroughly enjoying that story, albeit only 2 chapters of it. Seems like it's got alot of potential and it has this nice pithy vibe to it. It even managed to not make me rage at describing how he has Voldemort/Dumbledore memories or skills.

Oh wow, a duel that's not the usual people jumping and rolling around around like spells move slower than molasses and as if physically moving out of the way of something is remotely fast or efficient compared to a hand motion.

Genuinely and pleasantly surprising given the first chapter of that fic has him do a literal backflip.
