Haven't followed the series at all but I watched the last two episodes in my friends' apartment. I expected some Godzilla type of fighting shit and I got it. Overall enjoyable even though the Aang was not really Aang.

 

You don't have to be asshole about it. For fuck sake 4 episode come just today how fuck should people now there is going to spoilers in this thread if people isn't aware new chapters out.

I for example didn't realise 4 chapter was out and only watche 1 of them then read the thread. Spoiled 3 last chapter.

So his mom got her happy-ever-after and Azula escapes into the wilds? How very anti-climatic.

I'm glad Zuko is Ozai's legitimate son though. That whole plot-bunny jeopardized the poignancy of his character development, which is, arguably, the best of any character in both series.

 

Just watched the entire season today. Squealed like a little girl when Iroh appeared. My favorite character in the history of ever.

I was a bit upset when he said he made a choice to join the spirit world, but then I don't really know the backstory behind the afterlife in the ATLA/LOK universe. Why did he not move on to join his son?

Apparently, the title of Book 3 is 'Change'.

 

Maybe Korra's statement can fit in 'Harry Potter: The Last Avatar', considering that in the fic there isn't a single mention of the Avatar of the previous generation or any avatars post-Korra, if I recall correctly, therefore confirming Harry's status as unique fuck up of the spiritworld/reincarnation cycle.

 

Korra and Raava end up fusing together at the end of the finale. The only thing that ended up being truly lost was Korra's connection to all of her past lives.

 

Korra is a little whinny bitch. That's all I have to say after listening to the whole series. However, I liked learning about how the Avatar came to be.

 

I mean, it could, but it doesn't. The plans I formed during the immense gap between Book 1 and 2 of Korra stretch further ahead and back than the story as it stands now, and I'm not going to change my world just because Konietzko and DiMartino changed theirs. So none of Book 2 is part of HP:TLA canon. Because I say so. So mote it be.

An easier way of going about it would be to say she managed to regain that connection. For all we know that may end up being a plot point in the next season.

 

Just finished it. Pretty much have to agree with fire a few posts above. Especially on the spirit portal issue. I was mostly fine with it up until then -- you know, it wasn't amazing but I thought it was better than the crap the first season finale threw at us. Then Korra puts her dunce cap back on and decides that the horrible, spirit-overrun world she saw ten thousand years ago was a good thing. Idiot.

 

It probably would have been better if events had conspired so that she simply didn't have the opportunity to close the portal and it's forced to stay open because harmonic/spirit shenanigans. So it's a consequence of her saving the world and in the aftermath, Korra steps up and prepares to do everything she can to ensure they can live in harmony like Wan did.

I can't be sure, but it kinda looks like a ton of people have developed the ability to bend (specifically the ability to air-bend) as a result of all the spirit stuff that happened last season. Which is pretty fucking cool. Or maybe that's young Tenzin?
