Did you mean Gustang? If you did it's unlikely. IIRC he was referred to as young by the guy on the radio when he was first introduced, and Gustang is one of the oldest people in the Tower.

I dropped DICE this week. It looks like they want to go down a "No good and evil, only shades of grey path," except every one is evil. Only pure innocent Eunju, and maybe the protagonist can be anything but.

Karaka's faction are colossal dickbags. Everything we've seen still indicates everyone in Yu Han Sung's faction just wants him to kill Zahard because he's kind of they're only hope of doing so. Even the hostage thing in the first place was actually a last resort, and giving him the fake Thorn was for the purpose of giving him the real Thorn.

So as long as Yuto is either Hwa Ryun or another red witch who's also actually in their faction then I don't see a backstab in this particular case. Though I also don't see things going as planned either.

 

They're all dickbags, for the hostage thing and more. I hope Baam sells every FUG member he knows of (other than Jinsung, who is awesome) out to the Empire after bailing on the organization.

 

Eh, I can't really fault the hostage thing despite what it's resulted in mainly because the reason it happened is literally because Baam refused to believe Rachel would betray him and believed FUG must have made her do it somehow, that was his entire reason for refusing. Not because of any insight into FUG or their motives.

In fact most of the first part was him realizing that basically everything wrong with the Tower is a result of the system set up and enforced by Zahard and the Ten Warriors, and also that because Zahard and the Ten Warriors are the chief shitbags of the Tower, bar none, they would use every chance they got to kill him simply for being an Irregular, which would have totally worked if not for FUG, because he's not Urek Mazino, who entered the Tower already strong enough to survive that.

I can't exactly feel much hatred for FUG as a concept and those like Hwa Ryun, Yu Han Sung and Jin Sung, who seem simply desperate to end Zahard's literally unbeatable tyrannical empire. It's also why I can't see Wingtree as much of an alternative, because they're an organisation that's been around for ages with the only guy both strong enough and an Irregular that they could call Zahard on his shit because they're a legitimate threat, and they don't because all they care about is finding a way out of the Tower for themselves, not about the suffering of anyone in it.

So no, I don't hope they all get sold out to the Empire, because as far as I'm concerned the Empire are still the ultimate bad guys. FUG's extremism or criminal nature don't even come close to over 5000 years of systematic creation of a ruling class of gods that have the right to do literally whatever they want to those less powerful them them, simply because Zahard wants to use that ruling class as soldiers to climb more floors rather than finding a way to do so himself.
