Bringing back Merlyn was a bit of a cop out.

At least they were beating us over the head with Olicity again to make up for it.

I just remembered something funny, Thea had a crush on Tommy.

Tommy also said he thought of her as a "little sister" which is pretty funny in retrospect. Yeah, that whole crush on her dead half-brother thing would make this like 10x more traumatising for Thea if/when she ever finds out.

This show continues to deliver! Things are heating for Oliver, what with Merlyn's re-entrance and Brother Blood's super-thug thing going on. Then there's the Dollmaker frolicking around as well. I'm starting to get vibes that we might be seeing a villainous alliance sometime in the near future.

I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt here. If they can't succeed his portrayal in the last season then I might agree.

Uh, he died. Black Canary kind of impaled him. That scene with Vertigo letting him out was back when the earthquake-machine incident happened, months before the episode he starred in.

It'll happen, man. Just let them get the melodrama out of the way. You know they aren't doing anything related to relationships without melodrama.

Personally think it wouldve been better if Oliver was his son.

Also its good Laurel can now recognize her own faults.

If and when it ever comes out, Moira will have jury tampering charges stacked on her probably.

Nah, better that its Thea. Oliver being his son would be cliche.

Even if those charges aren't added to the list she would definitely be convicted in the retrial. Afterall, how can anyone believe she feared for Thea's life during the years of Oliver's disappearance when all she had to do was tell Merlyn the truth.

I think Merlyn might be bat-shit insane. If it was Nyssa's Lazarus Pit, that is.

(What's up with that term anyway? Bat fecal matter is never mentioned anywhere except in reference to insanity.)

But yeah, I'm pretty pumped. And oh god, the possibilities for a DC Cinematic Universe. I hoped they mention Man of Steel events on a television or something, because my life would be complete.

Hopefully all this Slade stuff comes into some awesome fruition. Next episode should have Super Slade, and some more Blood stuff. Wondering how HIVE and the League will relate. I'm thinking Blood will end up season antagonist while the League plays a series long game?

You may get your wish if the rumors I keep hearing about Grant Gustin having a cameo in Batman vs Superman are true.

I reckon they should do it after the mid-season finale, do a few scenes of the crew watching shit go down on television during the battle, the scene of Zodd taking over the television, etc...

30 second scenes here and there, IMO.

Every time I watch a new episode of the awesomeness that is this show I get more and more pissed at Marvel for fucking up AOS.

First off, WHAT THE FUCK, OLIVER. Shooting Roy was a dick ass move, and is only going to delay the advent of Red Arrow.

Second off, WHAT THE FUCK, SLADE. Why you do 'dis to me?

Third off, WHAT THE FUCK, MOIRA. You're about to be fucked from both directions.

Anyway, whatever those needles were, Ollie needs a power-up if he's going to be part of the DC movie universe. And that fucking teasing with the lightning and the chemicals. GODDAMN.

What a good fucking episode. I can't wait for next week's episode to happen.

Also: reminder, Sara asked what happened to Slade when she reunited with Ollie in Starling, so it's essentially guaranteed that Slade survived the injection, if nothing else.

Which is incredibly important to him becoming Deathstroke and returning to the series. Which needs to happen, if not necessarily for a few seasons.

And man, next week's episode is going to be so good, too. This fucking show.

FEdit: I could not control my grin when Slade got injected (and the scenes surrounding it.) It was all so good. This show is so good.

Preview for next week! That mask. :D

I was afraid they were going to botch the... Barrlicity? But I think they pulled it off quite smoothly. At the very least it made me want to see more.

Whoever is pulling the strings on this show seems to be playing the long game. It's so incredibly juicy right now that an arrow in the meat of Roy's thigh is going to be long gone before he tries on that outfit.

Besides, whatever the serum does (I don't know the comics or the shows take precisely) but it appears to be so incredibly indestructible and savage that the Arrow and small arms fire can't stop it.

Lastly, how comic book is the serum? I could probably dig it up on the internet but flavored input is better than straight facts sometimes.

I dont know, it seems Felicity trusts Barry a helluva lot for only knowing him briefly, seemed slightly forced to me.

Name drop of Ra was cool. Was kinda hoping he'd throw back, "your son tried to kill you" or something just to see how she'd respond.

Also the obvious tension between Isabel and Moira was awesome.

Roy had that arrow coming tbh.

Im hoping Slade and Oliver dont fall out over Shado, I know it's CW, but you can hope right.

I think the show really did an incredible job with the action sequences this episode. They struck the balance between showing how superhuman-ly strong that dude was and how Oliver can still put up a good fight perfectly, really nice use of arrows too. And Oliver getting kicked like ten feet in the air was almost as funny as him shooting Ray.

I'm by no means a definitive source on comic book canon, so you really won't be getting 'flavored input', but I did some searching and found a bit of information. The closest serums I could find are the Miraclo Serum and its offshoot, the much better known Venom Serum.

The similarities between Miraclo and Mirakuru are pretty obvious name-wise, though the former isn't permanent like the latter seemingly is. Venom is derived from the Miraclo pill, yet it needs to be constantly infused into the blood stream.
