The curse could also be some kind of dead man switch. Something like Voldemort saying "Well, I am immortal but just in case the impossible happens here is a little curse I like to call FUCK YOU ALL AND EVERYTHING YOU LOVE!" in which case he wouldn't really care if magic items got affected.

The alternative is that he knew how to counter the curse and planned to do so once his reign was secure, with his death stopping him from doing so.

Heh, I guess crossovers with this aren't my cup of tea.

All I can think is, "If I wanted to read Harry Potter with absolutely every interesting aspect of muggle and magical life taken away, so the characters are left scrabbling around in the dirt, bemoaning what a pitiless and worthless shit-fest their lives have become, I'd just watch every rain-filled first episode of each season of Survivor, then call it a day." :p

I already read what Ron was like with magic, and stuck in a magical tent. I know I don't want to read what he's like with nothing but a muggle pup tent and the muggle version of quidditch to distract him from his empty stomach.

I would read the shit out of a story with this premise.

It would be interesting to recast the cultural conflict over the statute of secrecy. Pureblood forces Voldemort, whoever, remove any threat that muggles might pose now or in the future by cursing all technology a la the taboo. The conflict between dark and light wizarding factions is now over the way in which wizards rule over muggles, benevolently or otherwise.

The immediate repercussions for wizards aren't thought out by the casters of the curse as almost all of the food production wizards rely on stops, per the exception to Gamp's law. How does the wizarding world solve this problem?

Written with multiple POV like dies the fire would be a great way to explore magical society.
