I don't know what you mean as that's some of the best acting I've ever seen....

I thought the movies had the casting down pretty well. Well, I thought Richard Harris came closer than Michael Gambon to Dumbledore, but since he uh, died, there's not much to be done for that.

I think my biggest problem was with Voldemort. Not that Ralph Fiennes is bad, it's just how they made him look and act.

EDIT: Holy ninjas Batman. And every post is complaining about Dumbledore. >_>

Oh, and I wish they could've gotten Dan Radcliffe to have green eyes. I guess I can understand him not being able to stand contacts, but maybe some subtle CGI could've worked.

The chick who played Tonks never quite clicked for me.

Yeah Dumbledore's casting was very lackluster. I personally thought that Daniel, Watson and Grint nailed it as they are the people I always picture nowadays when it comes to the characters.

Sirius too was very meh. I thought he lacked whatever it is that made Sirius likeable.

    Agreed on Voldemort.

thought they did a pretty good job with Remus' character. I didn't think the Dursley's had the mojo though. And the cut scene when they left made me want to vomit.

Fucking Hedwig was awesome though, right guys?

no but seriously, Fiennes turned Voldemort into a much more comedic version of Voldemort than I ever imagined.

Hedwig should have had more attitude.

Oh, that too. She's not even close to looking like the Tonks in my head.

I never really thought of Harry Potter as live-action as I was reading it. It was always in a kind of art style, like it was animated or something. Actually I seem to visualize a lot of things I read like that. Now that I think about it I'd probably appreciate an animated movie version of Harry Potter a lot more than the live-action adaptations.

Fiennes is a good actor, but they didn't do too well with Voldemort. Radcliffe was average, and therefore acceptable. He also had his moments. Watson, I think she gets more credit than she deserves but whatever, Grint was easily the best of the three, which is ironic considering how canon went in that regard.

Oldman was too old, no pun intended. And Rickman is too damn badass to have played Snape, as attested to by that link wordhammer posted some time ago about this very subject. The guy playing Lupin thought he was gay, and ever since he admitted that it's shown through for me. He's also just kind of sad, and lonely, instead of cool, gifted, misunderstood, well-mannered and lonely.

Funfact: Tonks is Osha in GoT. I think. Yup.

I liked Gambon, actually. Gary Oldman is a great actor, but he just didn't fit.

Matthew Lewis wins the "Best Cast HP Character Award' from me.

I think Fiennes acted Voldemort great, and I loved the look. I think there's something very charismatic about it... he's not good looking by any measure, but neither is he repulsive. I think there's something quite inhumanly captivating, almost regal about him.

The problem was with the script which made him both insane and irrational, which was itself something inherited from the books. Neither Fieness nor the make-up department can be blamed for that.

Grint was easily the best out of the trio for me. Watson was good as well but she acted so differently in the films that I couldn't think of her character as the Hermione from the books but I suppose she can't be blamed for the script. Dan was meh all the way.

Gambon was all right, except for a handful of scenes where he lost his cool.

One of the casting decisions I really liked was Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid. He's one of the few actors to have become part of my headcanon.

That scene was terrible directing, not terrible acting.

Gambon portrayed the energy and humanity of Dumbledore, Harris the wisdom and eccentricity. If only there was some way to combine the two...

Heh, don't think Dumbledore ever had that kind of energy.

I don't think Dumbledore would go batshit insane when he got angry, more ice cold and scary calm. The way they had Gambon act in that scene is more Snape to me.

They could of made Ginny hot. Trouble with casting children though, lucky dip as to what they will look like when they grow up.
