That's a ton of AI games. Do normals not appeal to you?

Grats on the victory. Renekton vs Singed is one where you have to abuse your early power and sustain. Once Singed hits 6 he should be alright though.

 

3-1 for me. i'm surprised its going so well, so far.

 

It was pretty much 1 game a day for the past year. It was only recently that I started consuming the entire AI reward timer to power level. I was told that Intermediate AI gave more xp/ip than normals?

1 Placement played, 1 win.

Played Lulu with a guy whose ADC is about as bad as mine, he went Cait and their bot was a duo with Trist/Poppy. Interesting combo, killed us a couple of times with Lee, our Elise had no prescence all game but she got kills in fights so, it worked out. Nasus had a rough game vs Teemo top and I didn't pay much attention to Ori vs Lux, all I know is Ori missed her ult at Baron which could've really fucked us if we hadn't killed Teemo and swept it for shrooms already. Still we did well as a team, everyone had some bad plays and we were fine about it - I love late night solo Q.

Oh well, coulda played better, and DCing right after a huge fight didn't help my team, thankfully I lived. Biggest mistake was trying to CC Poppy whenever she didn't ult me, every damn time and then not doing so when she did. I'm retarded.

Edit; After further research, everyone in that game bar me & the Poppy were Plat IV or higher last season, and only the Nasus had higher MMR than me on my team during champ select. This scares the crap out of me for my remaining placements.

 

Placed into Bronze five after going 5/5 and being in Silver 1 before the reset. Back up to Silver V, but very annoying, seeing as how I had already done promos for gold and lost them right before the reset.

 

Lost 2nd placement, had a jungle Elise build 0 damage early and their Vi just trashed us, Ziggs trashed Morgana mid even though we dumpstered their bot. TP/Revive Tryn just pushed us to death, another Nasus too focussed on Q farming as opposed to just re-shoving the wave.

Won game 3 as Shyv top against Skarner, had the Ziggs from last game on my team, was a long match with us nearly throwing after they got a Baron but we just scaled better, only Kha'Zix did any damage for them and they had a full AD comp so we just out-scaled. Frozen Mallet was the final nail in the coffin as I could just stick to Kha all day before we went in with that, Blade & Randuins.

Currently 2:1, no Plats in my games today, all Gold with 2 Silvers so probably looking at Gold III/IV currently.

Not sure if playing a classical broadcast on Grooveshark helped or hindered me tonight.

 

Wow. I finished last season in Plat 4. Came out of my placements in Plat 3.

Alas, 3/7 placements, brought me from Plat 3(in promos to 2), to Gold 4. Ah well.

 

I feel like placements are disappointing for everyone. I was pretty solidly gold last season, and now I went 5/5 placements and i'm silver 3. How frustrating since if I went even in placements why did I not wind up where I started? At one point I was playing with plat last season (2 games ago), and now i'm in silver.

Maa, it's not so bad. At least I've won all four matches that I've played after placements. In promos right now, and it probably won't take too long to get back to Plat, and work my way back up from there.

 

Getting matched with S3 diamonds in placements after 6 games. System please, I'm a lowly silver for god's sake.

 

The way I understand it you should be fine - and theoretically be getting matched against Gold players pretty quickly because I don't see why the soft reset will have impacted your MMR that much.

That's how I understand the system at least. If not, then I daresay I'll be in a very similar situation, almost makes me wish I played the final game in my Gold I promo rather than sit around at 1:1 forever.

 

? If you went 5/5, then that's exactly where you should be. The whole point of soft reset is to drop everybody's division, and lower the average elo/mmr in general (Or, if you are below 1200, you go up). It's like this every season where Diamonds drop to plats, plats drop to gold, etc. As you play more, ratings will eventually get inflated again and you will probably be back in gold (or higher, if you get better).

Granted though, the people with MMR above their previous division, and did well on placements could probably get back to where they were before (but in actuality you could almost consider it an entire league increase).

 

Except, you know, going 5/5 if you're 1400 elo means you're 100 elo less than where you started.

1400+1200=2600/2=1300 so if you go even in placements and you're above 1200 mmr you will always wind up lower than you started. I'll wind up back in gold in the next 100 games, no issue. Silver elo players are just notably worse than I am, so i'll climb. They're also toxic as fuck and annoying to deal with.

correction: 100 serious games, since i'm trolling like fuck with my champ choices like AD Sion top and Xin jungle (which isn't terrible mind you, but that was my first game with him.)

A trolling Leblanc support who intentionally fed in the last game took my sweet gold away. Though still an improvement on last season already now that I actually decided to tryhard the games. :S

If it takes you 100 games to climb out, then you are probably not too far from that skill level (probably just slightly higher). Given that for the first 50 games or so, a 50/50 win rate will still let you climb, and the fact that more people will drop below 1200, it's pretty standard for elo/mmr to start inflating again. It's why the soft reset is necessary and nothing to worry about.

100 games is where a lot of theories have it where you wind up where you belong. I could be gold earlier than that, or a little later. Riot says 2-300 iirc.
