What's the scenario there, or are they hoping to get a good reception with these lesser known heroes? (Rocket Raccoon???)

I don't understand. What is it that makes GOTG even remotely interesting?

It's basically Marvel's equivalent to Farscape.

It looks like a fun, pulpy, space opera with Bert Macklin, a raccoon with a huge gun and a tree voiced by Iron Giant trying to save the universe while also tying in to Avengers 3's big bad. The characters being focused on were also at the heart of Marvel's cosmic events for the past decade.

    THIS LOOKS AMAZING!

seriously though, this looks excellent. Was the previous one any good? (good being defined as cray-cray death scenes, high body count and serviceable acting/dialogue)

Hey man, I enjoy movies like sharknado, evil dead, etc. I don't think its all that uncommon to really enjoy bad movies.

Just watched the first movie after seeing the trailer, I'd say it is a good movie for what it is. Some good death scenes, one of whom I found impressive, body count is high as far as ratio goes, its a dubbed foreign film so dialogue was a little hindered but I liked the acting quite a bit.

Really loved Wolf of Wall Street... It never tries to apologize, glorify or even show an ounce of sympathy. The cast plays their roles superb and everything in the movie simply works perfectly.

It's ridiculous that seem people still think it's trying to be apologetic for the protagonist.

Wolf of Wallstreet - so ridiculously good.

I've never laughed harder than the super quaalude scene with him driving his car back home.

Likely because we're used to feeling sympathetic for protagonists, even if they're villainous protagonists.

Probably why few ever bother making truly horrible people the protagonists, as people would claim the director or whoever is trying to make us feel sympathetic to them instead of simply showing us an interesting story.

Saw Wolf of Wall Street a couple days ago. It was a bit more drug-heavy than I expected, but beyond that it was about what I thought it would be. I was satisfied.

You know how Marvel and Fox were fighting over the rights for Quicksilver? Because Fox announced QS was going to be in a single scene in DOFP right after his role in Avengers 2 was confirmed?

Well this is how he looks in DOFP.

Fox owns the rights to call Pietro a Mutant and the rights to call him Magneto's son.

So naturally in DOFP, they announced Quicksilver will not be Eric's son from the future. But instead his apprentice from the past because why copy something from the comic book? And despite all the hype they keep giving him to attract Avengers crowds, he will be in only a single sequence.

They also stated they were never going to use Scarlet Witch because her power is too unrealistic for their broody X-men verse. This means Longshot and Domino will also never appear in a X-Movie.

Other news: DOFP was so bloated that they officially cut Rogue from the cast for more Storm at the very last minute. It is also the most expensive X-Men movie ever, costing as much as the Avengers.

Singer is so confident about this movie he already announced the sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse.
