Are there are any good fics where Harry is really religious person who despise witches and magic?

Actually, are there are any special schools where underage children can study? Like special orphanage for future priests?

 

Nope. I'd imagine Harry hiding in a church after running from Dudley's gang, and there he finds...redemption!

 

Harry getting Dresdenverse style faith magic would be pretty neat.

 

Harry Potter and the Boondock Saints
Not really a religious Harry as far as i can remember, but it is a Boondock Saints crossover. Its not really all that great, but it was good enough for me to read it all.

 

There are a few fics with religious Dursleys trying to beat faith into him - which makes Harry rejecting all things magical.

The very beginning of the Denarian trilogy has Harry as a semi-religious person... but that's it.

 

Oh, I remember this one. The most disgusting fic, ever.

 

I had an idea with Harry being raised in a post-apocalyptic world (following some nuclear war) where wizard are worship as god. Was based on the Canticle of Lebowitz novel. I might try my hand at it. If someone has a fic, not necessarily where Harry is religious, but where religion plays a big role in HP, I'd be interested as well.

 

I had to stop after I got to the sky part. It was too much. Seriously, the only Abused-Harry Fic I remotely liked was one where Harry acts like an abused boy (and not an abused girl), Vernon was arrested before Hogwarts, and Petunia and Dudley also suffered under Vernon's wrath.

A friend of mine once created a Plot Bunny where Harry was raised by a Cult that declared him either a god or a son of a god (I forgot which). When he arrives at Hogwarts, he spreads his religion there and gets some surprising followers, including Lockhart (because he's Lockhart), Lucius (for the political power), and Draco (because he really believes it).

 

I read a HP/Hellsing fic once where Harry is raised by the Iscariot and then goes to Hogwarts. I can't remember if it was any good or not.

 

I was just going to say that the only religious!Harry fic I would read is one where he's based on Alexander Anderson

 

That was awesome.

Not fun of course, but well-written, well-characterized and logically sound. The catharsis of tragedy, well executed. Sorry to say it stops at almost the worst part- where the damage is discovered and assessed, but before we have hope that Harry can truly heal from it.

 

Well I've been looking for a fic similar to this for a while. Not so much that Harry is religious and despises magic, but rather that Harry is a violent dark wizard who comes to a Church for redemption, or finds Nirvana somehow. I've always thought that would make an interesting fic.

I should warn you the Story does have its problems, including what I fear to be an eventual Harry/Hermione. But trust me when I say it isn't like most Abused-Harry stories. I stopped reading it after a while, but it was a fascinating read.

 

I just want to reinforce how disgusting this thing is.

It's been years since I read it, but from what I remember, Harry's torture was legendary (for both Harry and the reader), it was excruciatingly detailed, he was completely fucked in the head (as in, he starved himself while at Hogwarts or some shit) and in no point of the story was there a sliver of hope that he would even partially recover.

The unforgivable part though, was that the writing was technically flawless. The structure was tight, the characters (apart from Harry and the abuse fiasco) believable and extremely interesting (Snape was very well portrayed especially) and the dialog immersive. And it had interesting magical concepts, like famine magic or some shit.

I think it's the only fic I've ever reported in ff.net.

 

That has to be one of the most depressing things I've ever read. :|
