Only question I had was why the victim hacked the 'bank' site if he was working with Castle's dad... unless that was the 'signal' he was supposed to send, but that seemed needlessly complicated, especially when dad has a fucking cell phone that he obviously was cool with using. And I don't think Dad did it himself... so, why did it happen?

Also, why is it that they think innocently bumping into someone and giving them your change will go unnoticed when it never happens in any other episode ever? The guy was meant to be noticed, especially since he had a line during the exchange. He might as well have held up a sign that said "I'll be important later!"

On a separate but related note, I think he was also the first person in about three seasons to recognize Castle as the fucking celebrity he is. Why does everyone have to be introduced to him these days when he used to go on talk shows and date famous actresses? Stephen King and James Patterson haven't done talk shows much in years, but I'd be hard-pressed to not recognize them, and he's supposed to be on their level.

Guess I'm just saying the writing has gotten lazier on this show.

I dunno, i don't think authors are as famous as your general celeb.

I bet most people don't even know what JK looks like, and wouldn't be able to spot her in the street. Add to that he's a mystery / thriller writer and, well, how many people would walk up to David Baldacci on the street? I'm sure a few would, but not like he's Clooney.

As for the hacking, i read it that he's still a troublemaking hacker, even if he's working with castle sr. The kid knew he was CIA and wanted to test himself. Isn't that how all hackers are?

 

Did anyone else feel cheated out of a 'I told you so' moment this last episode?

Oh, and Ryan and Espo photobombing Beckett and Castle's little moment at the end with massive grins was priceless! haha

 

At least Alexis came to realization how big of bitch she was. The episode was kinda lame tho. after like 15 min I could tell that the mother was the killer.

I'm starting to think that Castle needs to have shorter seasons. I'm finding a majority of these episodes to just be plain boring now.

To keep my interest something needs to be going on with Castle or Beckett. That or the case just needs to be interesting. Lately it's been neither. I might have to stop watching Castle altogether... which would be a sad day indeed.

 

Castle, Ryan and Espo carry the show, for sure, and I'm fine with that.

That other killer dude is far more interesting (what's his name again? Triple x something?) anyway. The senator business and her mum's death got a bit crazy for me.

 

I miss where Castle was the fountain of all of these little awesome facts that nobody knew and helped to solve the case. Now it's just Beckett angsting about the wedding and Castle standing there doing almost nothing.

 

Pretty much exactly why I stopped watching this show. They've systematically destroyed the interesting and awesome characters they had created in Richard Castle and Kate Beckett, reducing both of them to nothing more than a parody of their original selves. It was pretty much the last straw for me when they changed Castle's involvement from 'helps solve the cases with cool knowledge and creativity' to 'the guy who does stupid stuff and get shit on all the time for it'.

 

Yup, still absolutely no regrets in ditching this show after Season 5.

I keep checking this thread, hoping it gets better, but the only positive thing I've heard about it all season, is that Alexis apparently becomes less bitchy, or gets her comeuppance.

So yeah, nope, staying away from this now.

 

There was no comeuppance. She had like 3 lines about thinking about how maybe possibly she wasn't right with Pie. Nothing earth shattering.

 

Got halfway through this weeks episode before just saying screw it and deleting it.

Maybe I'll marathon them later, but you guys are quite right. This show has become nothing more than just another procedural drama; the world doesn't need any more of those.

 

I really liked this episode. It was kinda lame I could tell after 10min that it will be some shadowy organizations brainwashing people... But I liked it. They somehow managed to skip over that Alexis broke up with Pie. I think Pie was meant to be a one-time character but they somehow managed to write themselves into a corner, so now they are going mad trying to make everything right again.

But yeah this season is really Drama/Angst heavy... none of the Funny from the first two seasons. Sad.

 

I don't think I got that far into the case to find it interesting. I never really watched Castle just because of the mystery crime solving portion of it(Just about every show is some sort of mystery solving show now). I watch it more for the characters and the humor, and I'm just not finding the scenes exciting anymore.

I looked it up, and it looks like they have little to no writers left from the first two seasons, and it seems to me they have just slowly gone more into the standard crime solving scenario's, rather than focusing on the characters.

When Sherlock/Elementary starts doing that, I'll stop watching that too.

I can put up with a couple of episodes that are kind of boring, but I don't think I've been all that excited to watch a Castle episodes since the Time Travelling one, which was like 4 months ago. and funnily enough was written by two writers who began in the first couple seasons of Castle.

 

Moffat will never turn Sherlock into that, he loves himself too much for that.

If anything, expect it to try be more dark and unique - for better or worse, who knows?

As for this show, I'll admit, i enjoy castle, Ryan and Espo enough to keep coming back.

 

That's exactly what will happen, lol. Next episode will be back to mundaneity plot wise.
