Honestly, if Varagarv lives up to his billing he's probably going to whip Androssi's spoiled butt. But she doesn't really have to win, just occupy the dragon long enough for the two stooges to sneak in and swipe what he's hoarding.

I doubt he's going to whip her out.

    She's a Princess for a reason.

    I'd say Varagarv >= Androssi.

We'll see. I kind of think SIU wanted to have Mad Dog look badass as Hell, and that's why he didn't let Baam be his opponent (no obligation to 'protect' Androssi like exists for the main).

I'm happy where this ended up, though. Reflejo really has made himself into Baam's personal nemesis in this arc, and I quite didn't want to see SIU force a Baam vs Varagarv matchup because shounen power levels. Also nice to see someone finally shout Baam down with his 'I will handle it alone' shit. Thanks for that, Koon.

    True.

I kind of figured he matched her up with Androssi to get a glimpse of a Princess power?

    Tower of God.

The best part of this chapter is obvious.

    Trinity Seven.

Arata, still the best harem MC that ever was.

I'd actually missed three chapters of Trinity Seven! Damn, I keep forgetting how much I really like that manga. Arata, best harem MC indeed.

Huh.. surprised at how much I enjoyed Trinity. Always nice to read a manga that doesn´t take itself to serious and has a MC that acts so free-spirited (he reminds me a bit of Luffy, simply replace his hunger for food with an interest in the better gender) .

For ToG... Seems like we have some interesting fight scenes before us (and maybe (hopefully) even some real romantic ones). I am very interested in how the authors plans to handle that part of his story.

I wouldn't hold my breath. While I definitely wouldn't mind if it was Androssi, I just can't see it happening in ToG.

We'll see. SIU's afterword seems to agree with you, yet he has been pushing the Baam/Androssi shipteasing very hard since her return in Season Two.

I keep suspecting SIU is going to kill her off, possibly at the hands of some RED ranker. Hate me for saying this if you want, but that'd make an incredible (literally) ending for season 2.

It'd settle the question about Baam's motivation to end Zahard's rule even after he gets out of FUG's thumb, too. And it fits with SIU's prediction about there being no romance despite, as you say, the blatant Baam/Androssi ship tease.

But I don't actually want this to happen.

SIU didn't say that there was no romance (much the opposite, as he's said in the past). What he did say in this week's afterword is that the question of 'heroine' in the context of who Baam's love interest would be, is something that would be settled later. Basically, he's just cautioning the Baam/Androssi shippers to cool their jets a bit, because it's not coming to fruition right now.

I don't disagree that she will eventually die, but right now is too soon. It would be too much of a random asspull to have some RED member just happening to be around the Workshop Battle. Androssi will have to properly cause her own downfall by choosing love over position when the time comes that she has to make the hard choice.

    Beelzebub.

And that looks like all she wrote. I see an epilogue 'farewell' chapter to end the series on its fifth birthday. If I didn't know better I might think it had been planned that way all along. Nice non-terrible use of the shounen friendship trope in resolving the battle with Satan.

    Also two chapters of Kingdom.

This is getting interesting. Someone is going to have to win against Houken, and Shin is the only person who is going to be around to do it. He logically shouldn't be able to, so we'll see how that pans out. King Sei looking mighty dapper there at the end of 327 too.

I'm liking the little bit of character development for Duke Hyou, it fits in quite nicely with him. Is Houken actually injured right now? Also, given the Ouki/Houken/Duke hyou antics, I do wonder where Moubu fits on that scale, useless question as it is to ask.

I'm pretty sure Houken's left elbow is broken, given the graphical effects used in that panel. If it is, I don't think he'll fight - combination of him not getting into fights where he's at a disadvantage and there not being anyone there who he sees as a challenge. If he does fight, my guess is that it'll be with Sei (at least initially - until Shin comes to the rescue) and the broken arm will be used as a pretext for Houken getting defeated/stalemated.

For the Moubu question, what aspect of the generals are you referring to? Raw strength? Houken=Moubu>Hyou>Ouki. If the two faced off, I think Moubu would have a chance, unlike Hyou and Ouki who were clearly outclassed from the start. Granted, this is just based on his fight with Kanmei (the only really strong person we've seen him fight), and Kanmei had a very similar style to Moubu. I'm not sure whether he'd be able to cope with Houken's less brute-force technique.

If the question is where he stands as a complete general, I'd put him more or less on the level of Tou, or even slightly below, since Tou always seems to be a lot more in control of his battles. Tou is just about a half step below Ouki (and by extension, Hyou). And Houken is a shit general - he's only good at scaring the shit out of people and killing them. So rankings would be Ouki=Hyou>Tou>Moubu>>Houken.

...wow, that was a lot longer than I intended.

I hadn't considered him just backing off but yes, it might fit.

I feel similarly about Moubu compared to Houken in terms of over
When it comes to them as overall generals I agree with your Ouki=Hyou>Tou>Moubu>>Houken.

I'd forgotten about that. Hyou does say that he was a better fighter than Ouki though, and notes that Houken has gotten better. So I don't think the power rankings would change. Houken beat Hyou, who was better than Ouki. Moubu still has a chance.

Holy shit, did not expect Duke Hyou to die like that. He was really turning into an interesting character and seeing him mentor Shin was always amusing.

I don't think Shin will take on Houken. Without Kyoukai, he'll get crushed. Also, remember that Heki is now in charge of the remnants of Hyou's army, not Shin, so he may well save the day.

Either way, I've really enjoyed this Qin invasion arc. It's been great seeing the new Great Generals developing in Qin (though they've also lost quite a few by now; Ouki, Hyou and that poisoned guy). It'll be interesting to see how far Shin gets promoted after this.
