A falcon sounds good to me, considering Harry's talent for flight. And it's cool without being over the top.

 

A favorite of mine is the transformation into a panther in jbern's Bungle in the Jungle. But, you can just tell by how it's written than canon Harry would never end up like gang.

I like falcon too, there's too much love for flying in him for the form to not to be capable of it...however I always thought it'd be interesting if it were a snake. Of course once he loses the scar connection and the parseltongue (what), he'd probably lose that too. Yeah, I wasn't happy with that particular choice.

Speaking of, would Voldemort know how to transform? There's no question what his form would be (a bunny. An unsuspecting bunny), but there was never any indication in the books that he did.
I can't imagine young Voldie not wanting to capitalize and excel at every branch of magic. Old Voldie probably wouldn't have had the patience for it, though.

 

Actually, I take my previous suggestion back. Harry is definitely a polar bear.

 

In almost every fic where Harry becomes an Animagus, it's always some kind of bird: Falcon, Eagle, etc. I hate that with a fiery passion.

I did like The Lie I've Lived's animagi form: It was a deer of some kind, If I vaguely remember correctly.
