Yeah sorry about the double/merged post, but you guys should see this trailer that Amell just posted on his facebook page. It's pretty fucking nuts.

    EDIT:
That's fair. I still don't think it's unreasonable for Merlyn to have faked his death, though; Ollie was in a bit of a hurry at the time. Also, I'm not sure if he said anything about it (my memories of S1 can be hazy on really specific things), but keep in mind he also shot Deadshot in the eye. Additionally, he stabbed Merlyn through his own shoulder, so his aim might have been slightly off. There's enough plausible deniability that I don't think we need to jump to the Lazarus Pit quite yet.

That's fair too, my only question at this point then is that if he faked his death, how? Even if his aim was off when he stabbed Merlyn, getting a large stab wound right next to your heart is still going to be fairly fatal without immediate serious medical care. Ollie would have noticed if there was anyone just skulking around and Merlyn was just laying there for what seemed like most of the time he would have needed to not bleed out.

I'm willing to subscribe to the Lazarus Pit theory if only because of the rumored scope of the project around the tv show. It's a half full approach I guess.

You're right, of course, which is why this is where suspension of disbelief comes in. Maybe he had a backup, maybe he was capable of staying alive (and believably play dead until Ollie was gone) and could patch himself up, we don't really know. Maybe he just happens to have a Lazarus Pit hanging around, like you said.

Eh, she provides decent conflict for people that are in her sphere of influence. I'm not saying that it isn't contrived, (and this is far from Katie Cassidy's best work) but it is there.

Honestly they should either kill her off, or have her go somewhere and then never come back, with the occasional reference. Like maybe she takes off for rehab later in this season, and then in like episode five of the next season Detective Lance mentions to Oliver that she's staying with her mother in Central City.

Not exactly super far away, but in a comic books universe, it might as well be on another planet. Gotham, Bludhaven, Starling City, Central City, and Metropolis are all iirc within about two hundred miles of each other. I could be wrong, because I never really paid attention to DC's geography beyond Gotham.

Hm, I've seen Gotham placed in New Jersey before, but I've always thought of it being further north than that. It seems like it'd fit more in New England somewhere. I think the Young Justice show had it in Connecticut.

You know, they could actually replace real cities in DC with fictional ones. Metropolis basically is New York, you might as well just make it New York under a different name.

I feel like every scene Manu Bennett touches becomes infinitely more badass. Its amazing, but kind of disheartening. How the hell will they ever be able to top this villain?

All of this, god damnit I need more. This is not fair, this is one of the only things I hate about Arrow. With limited exceptions I can't help but love and hate even the worst bad guys at the same time. I need to see more, I know it won't happen but fuck me I want to see Olie and Slade patch things up and work together.

Is the preacher guy someone from DC? Thomas Flynn? They introduced him for a reason, I can't fathom what for though.

Nope. Nothing involving the rat he was petting either. Seems set to be an Arrow Original.

There are rumors he might be The Pied Piper, a primarily Flash-related villain, but with extensive ties to Green Arrow, Canary and Deathstroke. He's main thing, duh, is the use of music and sonic technology.

The character's also set to be one of the main villains in the Flash show.

The weird thing about that, though, is that character already has a name. Is "Hartley Rathaway" too dumb for TV or something?

Because I can see why it might be a little too much of a pun, I guess.

In this Stephen McQueen interview clip, he briefly mentions being in talks to potentially play Nightwing. Could be interesting, and really begs the question: if they do bring in Nightwing and Harley, how the fuck are they going to handle Batman and Joker? You absolutely cannot have those characters without making reference to some core Batman characters.

Power watched the whole thing (-Where did my week go?) And I must say this show was much better than I expected. I was hoping for popcorn series for free times but got awesome story that dragged me to the end.

First of all main guy did a good job.I mean I had liked Smallville Olliver and wasn't expecting anything as good but I was suprised in a good way.

Quentin the cop was very awesome.

Unlike others I didn't find Felicity that adorable. She is clishê Hollywood hacker. And comedic relif while nice felt a bit forced at times. Still worth it as long as she doesn't take too much of a central role.

"My secret identidy is black driver." awesomest quote of the show 'nuff said

The guy playing the Roy is so like what I imagined in my head it is eerie. Ollie shoul have taken the kid looong before he did. I was cheering for him the whole time.

Moria, Walter and Speedy (heh) does have some strong points that I liked.

Deathstroke Terminator. One hell yeah for the king. That guy is badass. Other willians might hold themselves well but he trumps above all. He is that good a character.

    Laurel is useless tough.

You know, it's funny you mention this. I liked Smallville (read: watched all of it) and never once while watching Arrow did I even think about that Olliver. In fact, I completely forgot Green Arrow was even a character on that show.

I like this version way better, but tbh that's not really a fair comparison.

Arrow does for Green Arrow what The Dark Knight did for Batman and I always find the grittier, darker versions to be better.

Right I had watched first few seasons of Smallville (some of them at least) and than jumped to 7th or 8th season or thereabouts. I simply couldn't get past the filler otherwise. And as far as I am concerned Olliver was one of the better characters of the show.

    Arrow does a good job as well. But Smallville version has a younger air about him. see pics;
