How's about the fact that perhaps not everyone browses that /v whatever it is? I was pretty happy to see the thread active. Consider that not everyone shares your pessimism regarding DAI and refrain from jumping down a persons throat whenever they dare to bump a thread with news you have already gotten from another source.

Raine, calm down. Usually I enjoy your posts a lot, they are funny as hell and pretty interesting insights too. But you lost focus.

I just saw my favourite franchise turn into a utter shitty game, Rome 2 Total War. And uet I did not lost all of my faith in CA. Because I believe that what made great games before it's still there.

And that's true to Bioware too. They can do excellent plotlines and characters, they can do excellent gameplay. We saw that many times. They did shitty endings, some more than others. But DAO endings were pretty good.

But mainly what I'm betting here isn't at their past. It's that the people at Bioware are human. That they care about what they do, that some if them believe that what they do is art, or a dream job. That when they see how criticised they were, they will want to answer, because they know they can do good. They will feel the desire, the need to prove themselves.

That they see what everyone can see, excellency brings fame and fortune. People don't talk a lot about DA, but anyone who plays game and use the internet heard of Skyrim or Dark Souls. They are everywhere. Don't you think people at EA and Bioware want that too? The recognition, the love, the respect, pride and feel of doing a good fucking job, and specially, the money that being such a household name brings.

They can't build a franchise on a meh game, look at Kingdoms of Amalur. It was good, but nothing else. So I di have hope , and I may end up having to eat all this, but when I get a work of art, this pay of only makes it better. It isn't about lowering your expectations, it's about enjoying the ride and be ready to go again. If it pays off, most excellent, if not, learn from what you can and hop on again.

 

Man, I loved Kingdoms of Amalur and dug that it was a former hall of fame caliber pitcher that founded it.. Too bad Curt Schilling's company went belly up.

New Trailer. It seems that whatever else happens the game will look at least quite nice. They really try for bigger maps and not a repeat of the DA2 fiasco or at least it looks that way.

Don't buy a next gen. Be a better bet to upgrade your PC, or build a new one.

Going PC will be cheaper in the long run too, what with games being significantly less expensive. Depending on where you live, you can get a really nice rig for around $1200.

 

Getting really pumped up about it. Shame I probably won't be able to run it on my old PC. I'll probably buy it anyway and wait until I can play.

Does anyone know if there'll be a multiplayer? Seems after ME3's MP was such a hit it's unlikely they won't try something.

 

David Gaider, Lead Writer, has confirmed multiplayer. However, they have not released any of the details regarding how it will be implemented.

I really don't play many games for the PC, because my laptop is pretty crap and likes to lag for a lot of games. I can play WoW on Minimum Settings. At least the laptop was free.

But yeah, 400$ for a PS4, vs anywhere from 1.5k-4k$ for a good gaming PC? I think I'll stay with my limited console. Graphics have never been the main attraction of a game for me anyway. As long as their not horrifying or 8-bit/Sprite or something I'm good.

So, personally, I'm hoping the thing I REALLY care about in games is better than it was DA2: The Story and Characters.
