I just started reading Synchronicity and got to the point where Naruto isnt in control of his own body. Is this regular in the fic? If so, tell me so I can stop now.

 

It becomes less regular as the story goes on.

 

Synchronicity is definitely really interesting, even if it's a total canon retread. But updated <twice a year? Fuck that. By the time it's updated again I'll have totally forgotten everything about the story.

 

The author of Synchronicity has a poll on her profile about pairings which keeps open the option of Yaoi. Fortunately, the highest 'yaoi' option is 'yaoi is a dealbreaker, yo'. And pro-yaoi is near the very bottom, so if the author sticks to her own poll it shouldn't go that way.

Though, I should warn you, her Favorite Stories list is full of Yaoi, including Harry/Voldemort and Minato/Kakashi.

Yeah. Yeah.

So, as Yaoi Fanthings are wont to do, we may end up with Yaoi anyway. Ugh.

 

I couldn't get past the first couple chapters. Kyuubi controller for uberness, then Naruto comes out for no reason. Does Naruto regain control of himself, or if not, does he actually become a decent ninja separate from gaining abilities because of the Kyuubis constant interference?

Naruto starts to worry about. Naruto losing his identity, and Kyuubi having some memories of being the 10 tails. Shenangins happen to Naruto similar to the dream cycles from Fate/Stay Night and cause interactions between Kurama and Naruto to become strained, along with missing blocks of memory from both of them.

 

Synchronicity is a nice read, if a bit dry.


Bonus points for the Kyuubi being a malevolent mass of chakra, I've had it with the bros4lyfe!Kurama.
Naruto does have an absurd jump in abilities, but with what they're flinging around in the Manga nowadays, I can suspend my disbelief.

 

Synchronicity is fucking ridiculous, is what it is. The setting makes no sense so it's very hard to take anything seriously.
It's a decent time waster, if you can look past that.

 

Why would you take any fanfiction seriously it's fanfiction? Personally I thought that they made a decent story. 90% of the Naruto fanfiction base is poorly written this fic was a breath of fresh air.

 

Oh god... I should have followed my initial instinct and just stayed away from Synchronicity. Despite the irritating summary and disclaimer, I tried reading on to see what all the fuss was about.

It gets fucking worse.

It's not just that the punctuation is basically random, but the style is so stupidly pretentious that I had to stop before the dream sequence even ended (three paragraphs in). It was that facepalm-worthy. I jumped forward and to the last available chapter and I immediately noticed that it doesn't get better, at least grammatically. I can't attest to its plot, characters, etc, but the fic desperately needs a beta. I'm afraid that much terribadness was a deal-breaker for me (if that pomposity wasn't enough, already).

 

Well, the characterization is at least sensible. As far as fanfiction goes, that's the most you can ask for.

Basically a time traveling Itachi, here's the catch, the present day Itachi is still there. Characterization, imo, was extremely well done. 4.5/5

 

Does anyone know what happened to the author of "Naruto: Ouroboros" in FF.net that he wanted to leave?

All his stories are in AO3 now, I think.

You do not ask for privacy after making a big drama out of it and repeat it every 5 seconds. Asking for privacy would be telling "hey guys, I'm out of here. You can find me at AO3", not what he posted.

Anyway, it's off-topic. I was just curious as to why he left.

 

What he posted was him asking for privacy. Saying that "he made a scene while asking for privacy, so he's not really asking for privacy" is retarded.

 

IT is off topic, anyway anyone found any other great stories, so far ouroboros, and Hurrican Suite, have been the best from what I've discovered.
