Smallville's version was pretty good. But they had to keep making him look bad to make Clark look good in comparison. He started out great, but once we had an actual superhero on the show and Clark doing nothing, the writers realized Clark was being shown up on his own show. Instead of making Clark more proactive their response was to saddle Oliver with drug and depression storylines.

And the sad part is he was still a better character than Clark.

I really appreciate that they didn't forget that Ollie was also in love with Shado because Slade was kind of eclipsing that aspect. I can't help but feel that Slade feeling jealous of Ollie is also playing a large part in his whole vendetta.

Laughed out loud at Roy's relieved expression after the handshake.

I think that's one part they screwed up a bit. For the longest time it was Ollie and Shado. The whole Slade loving Shado really seemed like it was just tacked on at the last minute. It was like she died and then Slade said, "Oh by the way, I totally loved Shado too, bro."

I don't necessarily agree with that. Part of this comes down to Manu's acting, but it seemed fairly clear from the way Slade looked at Ollie and Shado that some sort of love triangle was probably going to develop.

    And then Shado died.

Soooo, holy shit that was awesome. I was not expecting the Waller/Oliver connection or Alexies dead body. I think it was a little dumb how bad Ollie treated his Bratva connection considering how useful they are but overall I loved this. I do however now dearly want to see how Ollie and Amanda met, it's going to be fascinating.

That was definitely Harley Quinn. They're actually going there, this is great. So fucking great.

The rest of the episode was amazing too: I always love it when Dig and Deadshot interact, Slade was on his A-game, and seriously, that scene with Waller and Ollie at the end was incredible (and not just because of the Deathstroke name-drop!) I'm really looking forward to seeing their history play out in the Island plot, whenever they get around to it.

    This fucking show :D

Seriously. People write it off because the first season wasn't as amazing, but this entire season has been one awesome episode after another.

"Do you cuties need some counseling? I'm a trained therapist!" :awesome

I'm not as hardcore in love with this show as some of the rest of you, but I have to admit that these last two episodes were pretty fucking great.

Slade and Deadshot just make everything better.

Off topic, but Fox is making a Batman show without Batman in it? :|

Another excellent episode, and with this build-up, I'm jizzing myself just at the thought of the finale. Boy oh boy!

Amanda Waller is a scary woman. On the other hand I found it a bit surprising her security is that porous since it seems it was no work for Oliver to arrange a meeting with her. Deadshot and Harley Quinn ftw!

Overall I really enjoyed the show, and thought they'd really hit their stride this year. Last year felt a bit rushed, but was still okay. This year is step for step wonderful.

Really can't wait to see the masked-girlfriend fight next week, that oughta be a riot.

My only complaint about this week's show was the worn out "Bad secret govt. amoral agency" cliche. They've done so well with everything else that I just found that little part of the storytelling a let down.

On the other hand—what's the possibility of the suicide squad, led by Diggle, becoming the backup team to the Arrow and going after Slade?

Well... it is canon, isn't it? Waller is the biggest bitch in the DC universe. Making her moral all of a sudden would be OOC.

Don't know, don't read the comics. Just struck as ho-hum in the story.

Oh. Well, she is. From what little I remember and read about her this whole thing is completely in character. She has no morals to speak of, in Justice League Unlimited she cloned Supergirl in order to have someone of that power under her supervision. The Suicide Squad is a canon thing.

    Batman Beyond/JLU spoilers:

Waller secretly changed Terry's (the future Batman) father's reproductive DNA into an exact replica of Bruce Wayne's so that his children would have Bruce Wayne as their biological father. She even had a plan to kill Terry's parents as they were walking out of a movie theater in order to introduce the same trauma which created the original Batman.
