Not quite sure about Harry/Romilda (maybe "Amortentia" but that's more like than not Romilda in some fucking coma from an overdose of love potion, living in a fantasy world), but as for Harry/Pansy? Yes.

Some of this is smut, some of it isn't.

 

Talk of Romilda/Harry, yet "Harry Fucking Potter" is not even mentioned? (also called "whatever happened to bromance" on ffn). I guess it is sort of the obvious option though... and most people on DLP have read it at least once.

 

Yeah, it's been brought up fairly recently, so I didn't bother with it, plus it remains unfinished (or at least I think it is), hence another reason why I didn't bring it up. I like the fic, but fucking hell, I wish there was more.

 

Skipping Stones has shades of Harry/Romilda.

 

Shame it was last updated 3 years ago. I don't like to read abandoned fics, makes me a bit sad when I start to like them and then realize there's not going to be any more.

Edit: And of course I read the damn thing, I just had to, and I loved it, and now it's abandoned and it'll never ever get finished. God fucking damn it.

The Promises trilogy, starting with Promises Unbroken, is a great fic that might fit the bill.

 

Betrayal of the best kind by draco664. Begins with Harry in Azkaban, proceeds to show how he juggles all the shit around him in order to survive. It's like a decade old (post GoF) but still pretty fun. Plus it's complete and has a sequel up.

 

Are there any decently written fics where Ron is actually a loyal and somewhat intelligent friend (I'm not asking he be book-smart, let's just say he could be wizarding-smart since he did grow up in that world after all), rather than just a hanger on and someone for Hermione to try and boss around or the author's preferred mark for unrelenting, and unreasonable, bashing?

I ask for that, because lord almighty I've grown tired of encountering the numerous variations on how Ron can be a prat, especially in their fourth year at Hogwarts, when the Tournament comes to Britain and Harry's name pops out of the Goblet.

For once, just bloody once, I'd like to read about a Ron that isn't a compete git, but if he is one, it would be for plot-related purposes, rather than the 'Oh man, how come I never noticed Neville and all these other guys, Ron was in it all for my vault money!' excuse the author needed for Harry to branch out.

For once, I'd fucking love to read where Ron stays the loyal friend and Hermione goes full blown nightmare on the two of them.

It's silly that I ask for this, because not even five or so months ago, I rather enjoyed a decent Ron bashing, if only for the silly situations, rather than 'Ron's a Death Eater and he raped the author's mother' nonsensical possibilities. Now though... it's spread out quite a bit, possibly helped so by Rowling commenting on how one thing might not have worked out for the best, and then the typical overreaction to that by some of the fans.

Hell, it can be even something like "Number Games", where Ron obviously isn't a saint, but nor is he a complete fuck-up.

I'm not asking for anything that's Ron-centric, but I wouldn't mind it.

Probably within the next year, given the trend. Gryffindors Never Die had a loyal!Ron. Also Backwards with Purpose. Midnight Blues. On a Train, Switching Tracks. Incorruptible. The Secret of Slytherin (and sequel, Geas of Gryffindor).

 

I've read Gryffindors Never Die, bloody loved it to bits. Backwards and Incorruptible as well, but not the rest. I'll be looking up those now, thank you.
