unless it was a mod I had, you can self harm yourself and raise it. Just make something like an attribute boost, then toss a negative effect on as well

Raise what? I'm semi-sure that Destruction is only Target and Touch, not Self.. I'm probably wrong, though. If you mean Restoration... it doesn't need a negative effect. You can heal yourself at full health and it gives experience. I did find a useful mod, though, that raises experience per (damaging) shot with Marksmanship by 2x, 3x or 4x, and raises experience by magic (all magic) by a bit. I'm not sure how much. I'll post the link to the mod if you want, it's working out fine for me so far.

It is a decent game, but very biased towards thieves, mages, and warriors. I enjoy playing as an Archer, but they are terrible at arena, and in smaller caves. They require the most strategy when facing against multiple enemies.

I wanted to buy it, but then the german version came out and they destroyed everything... a lot of mistakes in spelling and grammar, incomplete sentences or even sentences that are not translated...in the german version. But the best is AFAIK they still have to patch it. The good thing is that the community has already made a patch for that, but I don't want to buy a game from a company who can't make a good version of it in german

Just sayin', you can make spells which do self harm.

Also, it seems that the bugs in Oblivion has practically become part of the game for a lot of gamers. To tell the truth, I'd prefer not to patch it just because this dude called Gromm who I killed early on in the game keeps popping up and I have to kill him again.

Grab a player mad plug in called Dealier archery, it lets you snipe/zoom farther and ups the bow's damage. I found the only way to viably play one was to go high sneak, and dump alot into enchanting my bow to be sick as possible.

I apologize for my lack of knowledge about mods, but how do you downloads mods to the Xbox 360? My Xbox Live account is not activated because I have just immigrated from the U.S, and I don't have access to DSL.

ah sorry Demented, I have the PC version and I often forget the poor console folks are stuck with crappy official mods =(

If you had the PC version though, you could use some of these mods

    better UI
    http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/fms/Image.php?id=16067

    better map
    http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/fms/Image.php?id=16070

    better inventory
    http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/fms/Image.php?id=16069

I do feel bad for the 360 owners, I had to change most of the game to make it close to enjoyable, and I got so bored with it even then I gave up relativley early in the main quest after doing a ton of the side ones.

The main quest bored me, too. And it doesn't help that the reward you get is worthless. It's outclassed by the Daedric armor that you've definitely collected while finishing the main quest.

Sorry for bumping this, but what I'm going to ask didn't seem worth making a new thread for. Does anybody know of an Oblivion mod that makes Guard levels the same as yours instead of 10 above?

Is all I found with a quick look.

This mod puts a level cap on all guards in the game. Now - eventually - you can be the badass ruler of the world everyone wants to be. Caps are as follows:

    City Guard/Watch/Jailor: 35
    Imperial Legion Battlemage: 35

    Count/Countess Bodyguard: 40
    Imperial Watch/Jailor: 40

    Palace Guard: 45
    Imperial Legion Forester: 45
    Imperial Legion Soldier: 45

    Main Quest Soldier/Militia/etc: 50

4 and a something year bump ftw.

Anywas, I recently (today) decided to replay oblivion. All my mods install fine except for supreme magicika. Which crashes the game. My mod manager says it is fine(Blue square, no errors). But it crashes the game a few seconds after start up. I have read tons of posts but nothing helpful.

    Help appreciated =)

I have Shivering Isles installed and the game is patched to 1.2
