While I'm not entirely convinced it will be a good movie, I can't disagree with how Marvel is approaching it. They want to expand their portfolio and decided to go with something totally different than their previous works. If it's a success then they once again proved that they can sell any of their properties to the mainstream audience. If it's not then their next movie is Avengers 2 and they will try something different (Ant-Man) after another billion dollars is in their pockets.

And their attitude with a promotion of GotG may be exactly what it needs to be a big hit.

 

I'm going to watch it just for Chris Pratt. He's fantastic in Parks & Rec.

I've been wanting to watch this since the leaked trailer!

 

The comic is one of my favorites, so I'll definitely be seeing it in theaters. I think the space comedy angle is good for Guardians. It'll draw alot of people, which it needs with trying to set up five new characters.

 

I really hope this succeeds. Not only because it looks awesome, but because it can open the floodgates to other, non-beatemup comic book movies.

Imagine a hardboiled detective movie starting The Question. Or Booster Gold and Blue Beetle in a Buddy Cop movie. Or hell, I'll take a Dazzler Musical.

 

I'm going for Bradley Cooper as a mutant racoon with anger problems and John C. Reilly as a Nova Corpsman.

 

I'm excited for something different, will definitely go to see it. Looks pretty great so far!

 

Had no idea what GOTG was, but the trailer looks pretty good.

It takes a special kind of lunacy to dare to market a superhero movie using Hooked On A Feeling as a theme song.

As for the movie, looks goofy and fun. Cannot wait.

FYI: Blue Beetle and Booster Gold are both from DC. They are also Awesome. Specially in combination.

 

Well it's pretty much the leaked trailer I watched before, song and all, but with actual footage instead of just test footage, and it's not recorded on a cell phone camera. Hardly complaining though, it looks good. I'm really impressed with Rocket Raccoon, he looks very lifelike. Like he'd actually hang out in my backyard and eat my garbage.

Despite my complaints that the MCU doesn't take itself seriously enough, I'm actually fine with them playing up the comedy for this one. At least they're being more honest, unlike Iron Man 3. And comedy makes sense given the premise seems to be "a bunch of crazy aliens go on space adventures."

 

Nathan Fillion is teasing a GotG cameo.

 

Sooo... This'll be a 10 then?

 

This one has potential to be more than another franchise builder movie, but it could use the exact structure as all other superhero movies and be boring.
