    Trailer.

I recently finished two previous games (skipped Arkham Origins) and they were great. There is not much I would want Rocksteady to add and they already announced inclusion of Batmobile. Though it would be nice if they would give us models from comics and shows, like they included more costumes for characters, preferably not all of them in some paid DLC. And Wayne Manor/Batcave that we can visit from time to time.

I'm little more unsure about the plot. I didn't really like Scarecrow in Asylum, partially because his levels were annoying to me and I wouldn't expect him to be the main villain. Arkham Knight character could be a needed addition to the game depending on who he is and what is his role in all of this. My bet is on someone from the Order of St. Dumas.

Lastly, no Joker at least physically. Some complain about his overexposure in the series and I would agree, but then I heard his voice message song for Batman. It pretty much defines they relationship from his point of view (at least in this interpretation) and the question is whether Bruce feels the same. That they were two sides of the same coin and only they could really understand their own brand of madness. For this reason, while there is no Joker, his presence may be as noticeable as it was in other games, affecting Batman's actions and decisions.

The problem with the Joker is that when he's in something, he completely takes over. It happened in Arkham Origins and it was extremely annoying. If they decide to include the Joker after all, well, that's on my very short list of things that would make me strongly reconsider buying this game.

The Joker has had his time to shine in this series, we really do not need more.

Why? In a lot of ways I thought it was the best one.

I've got high hopes for this one, anyway.

The Joker's practically enamored with Batman and his whole life revolves around him, and he thinks the same of Bruce because he's debased himself so much and retreated into insanity so far that he can't comprehend his real motivations. There shouldn't be any question of whether Bruce "feels the same way" -- that's retarded. Leave that to fucking Alan Moore and all those other edgy assholes that try to paint Batman as being insane, completely missing the point of superheroes.

Saving time and money for games with less mixed reviews. And they have really bad PR (the thing about no new patches).

He was the main antagonist in all three games. He can take a rest, let someone else take the reins.

Fuck that. Joker is the best Batman villain. No one else can make a better main antagonist. After the novelty factor wears off, everyone will compare them to Joker and find them wanting.

Personally I'm not against "edgy" interpretations of characters as long as they are just one of many available within the medium (which is easy with countless comics, less so with movies, hence may complains about MoS) or just subtly hinted (as could be in this game).

...No, not really. You're probably right about the Joker being his best villain, but variety is incredibly nice. Joker dominating Arkham Origins is seriously the worst part of that game, and it's already kinda mediocre for other reasons.

Really, the most likely thing to come out of the Joker taking over yet another Batman game is annoyance.

Never played Origins, so can't say I see where you're coming from. Arkham Asylum and City had plenty of interesting villains while keeping Joker as the main antagonist.
Really, no one else can fit that role so well, imo.

Eh. Bane had a decent shot at doing it in Origins, before the Joker mucked that up.

I do agree that if the Joker is present, he's the main attraction. End of. If he's not there, however, then others can take centre stage. Scarecrow done well, maybe some sort of Penguin-TwoFace coalition, there are plenty of options. Bane would be a fantastic villain, if he can be fleshed out a little more like he was in Origins. Hush could be a major factor as well. Not to mention the Arkham Knight, who is likely some form of Azrael and will obviously play a major part - potentially some sort of tie up with Ra's again in a major power play. Joker is a fascinating character, but there are others who can be done well too if given a chance, and honestly, experimenting that way is for the better in the end.
