It's also pointed out that Jon and arya look very much alike, more than the rest of the children, with arya also said to look like a young lyanna

And yet, even though Lyanna was beautiful enough to have multiple princes feuding after her Arya gets away with pretending to be a boy for two years.

She's an Arya-sue; an ugly duckling fated to grow into a kick-ass swan, but the writer spends so much time building up her tragic background that he forgets to turn her into the perfect solves-everything swan until the very end.

Arya is like 10 though. Not many princes feud over girls' beauty before they hit puberty.

Wait, what? Is this something that actually happened in the books? or are you just speculating?

If you believe the theory that Jaime is a secret targaryen then he committed patricide during the sack of kingslanding.

That would really win him the sin bingo.
    Incest, Oathbreaking, Patricide, etc.

I'm not sure if I even had stumbled upon on this kind of theory before, though.

Seems, eh, at least a bit too contrived and pointless, unlike the Snow theory.

Yes that was my point. That it's extremely unlikely and contrived, and yet still more likely in every way than Tyrion being a Targ.

They think they have cool magic powers like the Northmen (except better because Dragons or something) because they didn't read that interview where GRRM confirmed the hatching of the Dragons was a miracle event and that Daenarys thinking she's immune to heat is just her being delusional.

What's about the show? She hatches some dragons and then becomes convinced heat can't harm her just like the books. Just like she was convinced she couldn't get sick and then drinks bad water and starts vomiting and shitting everywhere.

Yeah, really unreasonable of her to think she is immune to heat after she stepped into a fire without getting hurt and gave life to century old and by now petrified dragon eggs.

That belief is completely unfounded and just silly. No idea where she got that from.

Whether she had reason to believe it doesn't make it right or wrong. Nor does it make it any less delusional when she sits in scalding water and apparently thought she was totally fine despite the author confirming that nah, it was a one off miracle event and she is totally not immune at all.

She also gets her skin all blistered and burned later and thinks that it's just like the hatching where only her hair was burned. Despite, y'know, that not being the case at all.

The TV show at least never showed that her bathing in scalding water was bad for her or that it hurt. It was used to at least foreshadow that yeah, she does have some resistance towards fire. So, there might be a difference there.

Wasn't there a scene in TV show where she touched hot dragon eggs without being burned unlike her servant?

Nemrut, you're wrong. Evidence from the book strongly suggests that neither Dany nor Targaryens in general are immune to fire or disease.

The fire at Summerhall killed King Aegon V and Duncan the small. The Great Spring Sickness killed Daeron the Good, his heirs and thousands beside.

As mentioned above, Dany gets diarrhea at Meereen. (Martin's elegant phrase iirc: "She was drinking shit, and shitting water").

Dany didn't get burned in the pyre - true. But a single instance is not evidence of a general immunity. I might have sex with a hooker with AIDS, and not contract the disease. Am I magically immune to AIDS? It was the blood magic invoked at that particular event that protected Dany and hatched the dragons etc; no special immunity needs be posited.

An important point about the Targaryen is that think they're special in certain ways, but they're not - they're deluded. Aerion Brightflame drank wildfire, thinking he was immune, but this hypothesis was elegantly disproved by him catching fire and being burnt to ash. Aerys thought he would rise from the ashes of Kings Landing as a dragon, and we all know what Aerys' beliefs are worth.

    tl;dr: No.

So the Season 1 finale was a fluke? A one-time deal? I'm not buying your explanation of 'a single instance is not evidence of a general immunity'. There are no chances with fire. You either get burned or you don't.

Did this happen in the books too and had a different explanation?

Edit: In the show, at least, I think there were several small instances that showed immunity to heat.
