I have a bit of an unusual request. If someone has an ebook version of the Goblet of Fire and could be bothered to do it, I'd like to read the scene where Harry sees Crouch on the Map after taking the egg to the Prefects' bathroom, ends up trapped in a fake stair and IIRC fake Moody and Snape show up, Moody picks up the Map and he and Snape have words. I would need the whole thing, including Harry and Moody's conversation afterwards.

This is the internet, everything is easily accessible. You just have to know where to look, google is always a good first place.

And don't get caught up in a virus trap.

You might try googling "harry-potter-and-goblet-of-fire-chapter_9027" (easier than pdf), but no guarantees.

I think he found it. And you only get viruses by googling Emma Watson (or that at least has the highest chance according to an article I once read)

I have basic anti-virus software, so I'm not too worried. And yeah, I already have the pdf, which is in itself another kind of awesome. I might just look for the other books too. I only have DH in English and I've always wanted to read the series in the original language.

So out of the blue, I was thinking about what would be good and bad parenting spells.

    Bad parenting spells:

    - Stupefy when you don't have time for your kid.
    - Imperius when the kid doesn't obey.
    - Silencio when the kid is just too damn loud.

    Good parenting spells:

    - Scourgify when your kid's clothes are dirty.
    - The Cheering Charm when the kid is sad.
    - The Patronus to play with a magical, glowing animal (which would be like the best thing ever for a 5 year old kid).

What others there might be for the two categories?

If you're gonna be putting the Imperius in bad parenting spells, might as well go with the Cruciatus and the Killing Curse as well. The other two Unforgivables need not be used on the child itself, but rather a pet he/she cares for. Granted, you'll need a steady supply of pets, before the child gets desensitized.

I see no problem with using a silencing charm on a naughty kid.

If you'd rather have a pyro than a weird emokid, you can transfigure his needle into a matchstick.

In all seriousness though, my family (especially my parents) would have abused the shit out of the Tickling Charm.

Cheering charms would also help when your toddler is throwing a fit. Or lacing his bottle with Calming Draught.

Too many HP world things to count that I wish I had when parenting:

    • Wit sharpening potions.
    • Essence of Dittany.
    • Age lines.
    • Bezoars.
    • Bruise removal paste (for when you got a bit enthusiastic with their disciplining).
    • Ten second pimple vanisher (from HBP).
    • Accio.
    • Anapneo.
    • Relashio ("drop that shit right now" jinx).
    • Legilimens.
