Nah you just hate her because it will mark your fic as old. Just kidding, I know the fic is younger than the first trailer.

Try to look her like an Obi-Wan (Return of the Jedi Obi-Wan), you won't cringe as much. Loved the trailer, and that frost dragon, awesome, but I hated that they showed the reunion scene with Stoick, it was touchin but tuined the suprise and tension. Really liked everyone older version, except Astrid, now she seems, bland. And Hiccup is really handsome, go understand.

I dunno, i always found that hiccup being the only one who did anything other than try to kill the dragons as a bit of a stretch.
If anything, that concept gives me indy!harry vibes.

I haven't seen the new trailer yet, and i won't (the wait is long enough as it is!), so I'm going off the mr. Miyagi of dragons vibe the older trailers portrayed.

That made me cringe a little, but even Toothless not knowing about it made it not that bad. Plus, Ice Dragon Kaijuu.

So Hiccup is supposed to know everything about dragons now? o_O

    He can learn no more?

Sounds like he's a Gary Stu...

Let's play Spot the Differences! For someone of your caliber, we'll start off with only a single difference.

    You have three tries.

Beyond that though, almost all her scenes are absurd, such as making a dragon faint by waving at it. Or revealing a hidden anatomical feature that even the dragon didn't know.

It is a shame that you can't hear me through the internet. The volume of my screaming 'bullshit' would have burst your eardrums.

It's a shame you can't see my pitying look as you cry bullshit at a movie where vikings fly around on dragons.

I better research dragons next time I try to match wits with you.

And you completely miss the part where my problem is with the characterization of the mother, not the dragons.

Keep your pity. You need it.

You're complaining that she can subdue dragons with a wave of her hand, something Hiccup technically already does by scratching it. Why? Does this conflict with your knowledge on Draconic anatomy? Does it annoy you that her knowledge seems to outstrip the protagonist's?

I'm incredulous because your complaint stems from something totally ridiculous.

You specifically say 'The moment she showed him something he didn't know about Toothless she was beyond redemption.'

What? Is that the characterisation you're talking about? That the writers made her seem more knowledgeable about Dragons than someone very much her junior?

That she pressed a nerve cluster of a magical creature or whatever the fuck and made his fins clap?

I can understand some people over analyze, but seriously?

Scratching is not ridiculous. Waving at it is. Simple.

Nah, it's fine. Hiccup has only had a couple years with Toothless. His mom has had (presumably) decades with all sorts of breeds including Night Furies. Hiccup would have figured it out on his own, eventually.

Spider man 2 was really really good. If you had any fears about how the villains are handled, put them aside and go watch the film.

Under the Skin was odd. Really odd. Not to mention disturbing and strikingly beautiful in equal measure.
