Normally, I'm against no-lynching. But since we don't get flips, I don't really see any benefit in lynching someone we think is town. (Unless 7 people think Sloth is scum, of course - then they should do what they want.)

Lynch Sloth as Town:
The Spirit Talker can talk to him and report to us.

Mods, can Spirit Talker talk to the town spirits or town and scum spirits? In that case, we wouldn't actually know his alignment even if the Spirit Tracker spoke to him.

"The first two towns that die control the Status Protector. This player selects their target during the day. This player cannot be blackmailed, kidnapped or jailkept. This ability cannot be used on the dead."

So during the day Sloth selects a target from the 11 living players. If the scum choose that player then he or she won't be blackmailed, kidnapped, or jailed.

Lynch Sloth as Scum

He becomes the Blackmailer:

"Blackmailer - The first dead Braineater will be granted the ability to blackmail other players. The blackmailer can create a post restriction for any other player. A player that violates the blackmail or claims blackmailed while blackmailed will have their lynch threshold reduced by one if fewer than 6 players remain. If more than 6 players remain, the lynch threshold is reduced by two. Players are not told if someone failed their blackmail."

 

My instinct is to say keeping a higher ratio of town:scum is more important than the spirit protector power.

I know the important parts of it, I just haven't sat down to run the numbers on whether it's useful to have a town die D1. I strongly suspect it isn't.
