You can get a pretty goddamn elite PC for less than $1500.

It depends on where you live although most countries where PC prices are really high also have abusive console prices. Brazil for instance is selling a ps4 for R$ 4000(around $1700) while you can build a pretty awesome PC with less than half that price.

I spent around $700 on my PC and I'm able to play games at higher quality than any console.

That's misleading, especially for people who don't know better. Often, for cross platform titles, the PC port is shitty because the games aren't optimised for it, so while technically you have the power to play anything you want, you'll often be waiting months for drivers / fixes to make things run smoothly / as intended.

If that doesn't bother you, and you don't care for PS exclusive games, buy a PC.

What Hugplx meant, was that if you want to join us in the sun as a master race gamer, buy a PC. ;)

My answer is a very apathetic and resounding "No."

The worst part about DA2, even with all the bullshit, was that it's a console game ported to PC (whereas Origins was the opposite).

    That said.

Is DA3 going to be similar? I'm sure a 2 second google could answer this.

    Fuck it

So, we've got a new trailer and a release date: Oct 7. Also, we can see some of the specializations for the classes. Champion and Templar, it looks like, for warriors (I couldn't make out the last one, which may be new) Knight Enchanter for Mage (The others being nothing I recognize), and I'm fairly sure it's Artificer, Assassin and maybe Infiltrator for Rogue.

Also is it just me,or doe it seem like the Character models might take some getting used to? As it is, they just seem plain ugly, at the moment.

What do you guys think of the released companions? I really hope Cullen isn't one of the 9 companions. I was praying for a female qunari. I'm sad now. Not much, it looks awesome.

Dunno why, but the linked website doesn't work properly for me. Found the trailer on YT though and my hype levels have grown even more. Also, another Follower Friday is coming up on BSN, so we'll get some new info on another companion.

I'm predicting epic shit with Flemeth. She's too awesome to not be involved in the VEIL BEING FUCKING TORN OPEN in some way.

Yeah the graphic will take some time to get used to but I am sure after a few hours you coudln´t even imagine looking the game any different. I wouldn´t go as far as say that they are ugly but that is simply difficult to compare with them with DA one or two.

I am a bit unhappy that there will be no "real" savegame importing (from what I gather on german news sites you have to replay the story with the dragon keep thingie to import it it) but considering how clearly it is focused on the new consoles it was probably stupid to expect much there.

The companions are another area I have some trouble with because so far all those characters don´t seem to reach the level of previous ones, especially considering how good the banter between Morrigan and Alistar or Leliana was. Instead we get characters that seem so very stereotypical (I mean brute Quanari mercenary or rogue elven wizard doesn´t scream interesting/original to me).

Still I am getting more hopeful the more I hear and see about this game, not enough to preoder but enough to be optimistic about it being a real, refined Bioware game. The strong competition (Witcher 3 etc.) surely doesn´t hurt either because it forces them to improve if they want to compete successfully.

They won't have to compete with anything really, it's the first triple a wrpg (and only one?) announced for this year.

I guess DS2 counts, but DA is just a different game.

For me, these games always hinge on the dialogue / characters, which is probably why I'm the only person in the world who preferred 2 over origins.

I didn't care for anyone in the original except Morrigan, but even she got old, fast.

Disappointed the "gameplay" trailer contains about 5 seconds of scripted UIless "gameplay". Guess we won't know if this game is going to hold up to anything until much closer to release.

Nah, I much prefer the second one over Origins, too.

Hoping Inquisition hasn't changed the returning characters too much.

A long lost prince, a rogue dark witch, a drunken dwarf, a roguish rogue, inoncent country elf in the city, and others. Biowares loves taking already made steriotypes and giving them their spin, a new way to seem without changing the familiar things. It worked with most companions in DA and really worked in ME, so I trust they can at least give us some decent ones now.

I'll wait and see how people react to it. I hated DA 2 with a passion and MA3 killed all faith I previously had in Bioware. They're going to have to earn my trust again before I blow sixty dollars on bad story telling and game mechanics.

Bad game mechanics? There are certainly a lot of things to bemoan in those two games, but bad mechanics isn't one of them.

Different, sure, but bad? Just no.

Sorry, but I fell in love with Mass Effect 1's game mechanics, 2 and 3's were just sad in comparison.

As for DA 2, I hated a few things with the mechanics, mainly the ability chart. I saw no reason why it was made into a web when the list from the first game was far simpler and better. The web complicated it and was annoying.

That's totally fine dude, but that doesn't mean the mechanics are bad, it means you don't like them.

It may sound like semantics, but bad mechanics carries the connotation that it's broken or unplayable in some way.

Your beef is fine if you really feel that way, but there's enough shit being hung on this game without people also thinking it's broken for some reason.

I also preferred 2 over Origins.
