    Susanoo is both eyes together.

One would assume that the Rinnegan abilities are spread between each eye, with his complete Susanoo requiring both Rinnegan.

Kakashi mentioned it a few chapters ago that his Sharingan was almost blind during the last attack by him and Minato and Gai?

Also, where on earth are the Kage? Are they still travelling after being healed?

Sasuke's left eye uses Amaterasu while his right eye has both Tsukiyomi and Kagutsuchi. Obito uses the intangibility variant of Kamui with his right eye while Kakashi uses the teleportation variant with his left. Shisui's eyes apparently had Kotoamatsukami in both eyes.

I thought Sasuke didn't have Tsukiyomi, that only Itachi had it?

Sasuke's MS abilities are Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi. He doesn't have Tsukuyomi, instead he uses Sharingan Genjutsu powered by his Mangekyou. He never calls it Tsukuyomi and the closest we get to it is when Danzo says his illusions aren't as good as Itachi's Tsukuyomi.

Madara does the same thing to A, IIRC; a Sharingan Genjutsu with his EMS, but it's not a special technique.

Madara uses Susanoo without either of his eyes against the bijuu, so I'm very doubtful that he needs the other Rinnegan in order to use it.

He mentions that he's lost his vision here.

Thanks. Bit disappointed though. It would mean in the idea I had of Naruto gaining Shisui's Sharingan from Itachi that using the badass Susano'o of his he would eventually go blind in it.

Still though, I was a bit puzzled on it because Itachi and Sasuke bled through the eyes when using Mangekyou and fits of intense pain. Kakashi only ever showed chakra exhaustion.

Question here - The Eternal Mangekyou is gained from killing and taking the eyes of a close blood relative like a parent or sibling. But if Naruto with that eye killed Danzo and took Shisui's other eye could he use it to gain the EMS in one eye? I mean, if the blood relation is the requirement then there is no closer blood relative than yourself.

Kakashi has recently been seen with his eye bleeding, and I believe he's felt pain using it in the past. I think he got away with it because he'd not long started using Kamui and did so sparingly, whereas Itachi was nearing the end of his MS use and Sasuke just abused it relentlessly.

    For your question:

You don't need to kill someone to gain the EMS. Tobi's version of how Madara gained his EMS is implied to be true, that Izuna willingly gave his eyes to brother.

To gain the EMS, you need to have awakened the Mangekyou Sharingan and then replace those eyes with someone else's Sharingan/Mangekyou Sharingan. The closer their blood relation to you, the higher the probability of success. Though with only two known successes, that probability is likely to still be damn low.

If Naruto who had replaced one of his eyes with Shisui's Sharingan then replaced it with his other Sharingan, nothing would happen. He's not a Uchiha so he lacks the special chakra involved with their evolution (I'd bet the only reason Kakashi pulled it off is because his Sharingan was still connected to Obito who saw him kill Rin), and that's basically the equivalent of Sasuke swapping his left and right eye around to achieve EMS. It wouldn't do jack.

We don't even know the exact process behind it. It could be that the two sets of eyes literally fuse together to form the EMS, or one set goes blind and all the chakra is put in the other one or something.

No. I'm pretty sure that the only people able to upgrade sharingan are Uchiha. The only way Naruto would get EMS is if he implanted EMS. The most Naruto could hope for by implanting a MS is that it skips EMS and goes straight to Rinnegan, but the revelation that Rinnegan requires Indra's chakra and not just any random Uchiha's eyes kind of rules that out. He'd need Sasuke's eyes for that.

I always worked off the idea that the eyes were fused together to form an even stronger pair. If it worked that way, I can see why it would be illogical for Uchiha to gain an EMS by fusing their own eyes. It would leave them blind in one eye. Very few Uchiha even knew about the EMS either so that's another factor.

But another idea is just how far Naruto's healing ability goes. An impalement wound from the Chidori healed over in seconds when he was using his 1-tail cloak. So is it akin to regeneration? And would Kurama's chakra heal the deterioration use of the MS caused?

Still, fanfiction gives us a bit of leeway with stuff like this.

Sasuke wouldn't have Susanoo if he lacked Tsukuyomi and Madara wouldn't be capable of casting Infinite Tsukuyomi he didn't have the power. The designs for their genjutsu are exactly the same as well.

Itachi uses Tsukuyomi, Sasuke uses Sharingan Genjutsu.

That's the most blatant example. Whilst Itachi is regularly shown using Tsukuyomi (it's often specified as "Itachi's Tsukuyomi" by Danzo and Obito), no-one has ever called Sasuke or Madara's Sharingan Genjutsu by the same name. And the resemblance in their genjutsu's appearance looks like one-off since I didn't see any other examples of Sasuke's looking like that.

The Susanoo requires mastery of both eyes of the Mangekyou, it's not stated to be limited to Amaterasu/Tsukuyomi.

Infinite Tsukuyomi is an illusion that requires the moon. It's not difficult to see why it has that name. Hell, what was technically the first shown example of this only used a regular Sharingan when Madara showed it to Obito.

@afrojack: My money's on time shenanigans, atm.

I think he may have done something like Izanagi then but at the end of the chapter Madara claimed he was out of range and Sasuke still reached him so his speed should be monstrous as well.

Sasuke doesn't the chakra to flaunt like his edo tensei brother does.

It actually has been stated that you need both jutsu.

The eyes probably are fused and one is lost/becomes useless. If not, Uchiha could just exchange eyes. However I doubt you can get EMS by merging two of your own eyes. You very likely need two different sets of eyes from two different persons, which then form a totally new eyes that have the patterns of the two different MS eyes merged into one (Madaras EMS pattern is a a merging of his and Izunas and Sasukes is a merging of his and Itachis).

No idea. Heck, we now know that the sharingan originates from the tree, and Kaguya presumably got it by eating the fruit. Juubi also had the 9-tomoe sharingan. And Kurama comes from Juubi/Shinju which was the source of the sharingan and also is the "fragment" that contains most of its power. You could arguably say that having a Kyuubi-jinchuuriki implant a sharingan could eventually cause pretty much anything to happen to that eye.

Well, Obito has abused his MS Kamui FAR more than Kakashi. His sharingan should have died ages ago. The only explanation for why it did not is the fact that his body is half Hashirama-clone. Given what we now know, you could easily say that Naruto having an implanted MS would not lose its sight because Naruto has Ashuras (son of RS, grandson of Kaguya with 9-tomoe sharingan) chakra within him just like Hashirama did, which may well have been the thing that so boosted Hashirama to great heights and made his "Senju DNA" so special.

So if you wanted, you could now plausibly argue that Naruto would not suffer the MS blindness due to being both an Uzumaki(Ashura descendant) and also having Ashuras chakra, just as Obito did not suffer from MS blindness due to having his body composed of cells of a Senju(Ashura descendant) who had Ashuras chakra.

    EDIT:
a)That means you need both eyes, not that you specifically need Tsukuyomi and Amaterasu. So someone with totally different powers could still potentially awaken Susanoo, even if they had totally different powers, so long as powers were awakened in both eyes.

b)The whole thing turned out to be nonsense anyway. Madara could use Susanoo WITHOUT ANY EYES before he became a Juubi Jinchuuriki (he uses it against Tobirama). And in Hagoromos flashback we see Ashura use a Susanoo-like chakra construct (basically just a different kind of Susanoo) against Indras Susanoo, even though he never had sharingan at all.

It clearly states you need both jutsu to unlock it.

Two sets of eyes seem obvious enough but exchanging may work. Or perhaps only Indra incarnations can take their eyes to such a level in the first place. I think Orochimaru stated back in the forest of death that Sasuke's eyes had more potential than Itachi's.

Seems to be an outdated statement to me. Probably written before Kishi decided exactly where he wanted to go with the sharingan.

Ashura's cloak seems more related to a bijuu cloak then Susanoo.

As for Madara. His situation was so far beyond the norm that who knows what's going on there. Maybe he still had some powered from his fake Rinnegan or something.

I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree on the susanoo thing. On a different note I was being a bit of a dumbass in regards to the Bijuu cloak.

Thats actually plausible. Madara and Sasuke are the only two to awaken EMS. Ofcourse it stretches credibility that Orochimaru would have known about Indra at the time.

Its from an old databook, from a time before Sasuke activated his Susanoo, and when Itachis Susanoo was the only one we had ever seen.

I used to think that. I figured that since Ashura was all about cooperation, maybe he asked Kurama for help. However the fact that Kurama does not mention Ashura in the mindscape scene at all leads me to suspect not.

Obviously Ashura had some other way of creating a chakra construct than eye hax. But he could do it somehow. It may not be a Sharingan-Susanoo, but a humanoid chakra construct like that is close enough that saying its not Susanoo is just semantics.

EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, maybe thats how Madara used Susanoo without eyes. He was not a Juubi jinchuuriki yet, but he DID have Hashiramas face on his chest. Maybe Madara formed the Susanoo using same technique that Ashura used to create his, and thats why he did not need eyes.

Man. Have you noticed we come up with some outlandish theories on here that are all really damn complex at times. But Kishi just kinda pulls from his ass lately as if trying to decide what powers he could give to who to make them cooler?
