Alternative - a world where Voldemort was so feared because he was the first wizards in last thousands of years that managed to subvert Oaths and murder somebody.

And now society that eradicated murder, violence, stealing, etc etc has to somehow deal with him.

Used magical oaths (even on canon level) have a big potential for interesting story, I really wanted to read one about it. Unfortunately there are only two written and one counts as guilty pleasure and second is extremely short oneshot.

The same applies basically to any mind magic described in canon - it is a pity that it is really rare that authors think about some possibilities that would be exploited by evil and/or desperate.

Gilderoy from canon is still the best thing on this topic.

No matter how you feel about the rest of the story, the internal monologue has redeeming qualities. Lots of legitimately funny one-liners.

 

Iunno, best thing about this fic (I skimmed it) was that Harry's legitimately evil, not the "brainwashing and stuff isn't evil when I'm the one doing it" stuff we see from time to time.

But an Evil protagonists a turn off, a brainwashing and raping one even more and the lack of a plot doesn't help. The story is basically evil Harry brainwashes -> has sex with a bunch of witches and if I wanted brainwash porn, I'd go somewhere else.

I think DisobedienceWriter wrote something similiar. 'Knowledge is useful, but Power is Power'. It really shows how horrible it would be with magical oaths used by the Ministry.

 

Sadly DisobedienceWriter is much better at coming up with interesting idea for stories than actually writing good stories with those ideas, and KiUbPiP doesn't really break that tend.
