I get the feeling that a large part of Naruto's power is not going to stay with him after the fight with Madara ends. Whether this means him dying, sacrificing his energy in some final attack, or the complete removal of chakra from the elemental nations I'm not sure, but an ending where Naruto and Sasuke retain their powers without a foe to use them against would be kinda narratively unsatisfying. They'd be able to pretty much dictate their terms to the rest of the world, and everyone else would just have to like it. It would undermine the whole 'peace through empathy' theme Kishimoto has tried to build up.

 

@Pete: Probably because Obito had chakra from the nine Bijuu on top of his Rinnegan.

I figured that Nagato was chosen because Madara needed someone with the Sage's body to balance out the power of his eyes. Maybe any Senju/Uzumaki would do and Nagato was the most conveient, maybe Nagato was the only success after a number of failings or maybe he was singled out because Madara could tell that he was a particularly exceptional Uzumaki.

 

I'm not sure Nagato even truly succeeded. Nagato generally shied away from using the full power of the Rinnegan and when he didn't he'd start bleeding from his nose and wasting away his lifespan.

 

I'd blame that on the Gedou Mazou which literally drained him dry when he first used its power. He didn't recover until he was resurrected and stole B's chakra to regain his lost vitality.

Edit: He used it far better than Obito ever could in any case and could wield all the Paths.

 

I think he'd have probably been injured using those techniques regardless. After he dies can't really be used as a measure for how the Rinnegan affects his body anyway.

I think he used it better than Obito(and Madara) simply for plot reasons. If they used the full power of the Rinnegan along with their other powers then they'd be unstoppable. Like Obito conveniently forgetting that he can use Kamui while he's a jinchuuriki.

 

My guess for ending is either a gigantic jutsu that wipes everything out and the world begins anew withouth cahkra and that fucking tree and the last panel we will see two boys with naruto and sasuke behind them as ghosts(fucking reincarnation) or some kind of bull shit time travel where naruto and sasuke travel back in time to prevent Kaguya from eating the fruit and instead helpin her defeat the monster or whatnot.

Also I agree that Naruto will probably loose his Anal beads of Powers after the fight...


Not to mention I had it with these motherfucking Rasengans in these motherfucking variations...

 

Oh god, the more I think about it, the more this seems like a likely ending. It lines up perfectly with Kishimoto's retarded reincarnated chosen ones, power of friendship, peace forever, and chakra/jutsu = cause of war schtick

Thats the "holy tree" speaking to Madara on the bottom left panel. Looks like two byakugan like eyes, and a 9-tomoe sharingan above them (where the forehead would be in a face). Infact, it looks exactly like Kaguya did: http://www.mangapanda.com/naruto/671/8

The face appears to Madara, AFTER he has absorbed the Tree. So its actually quite probable at this point that thanks to eating the fruit, Kaguya was either eventually consumed by the tree. Or perhaps turned into a new tree. Or something.

Thats what fruits are for afterall. To spread the species of the tree/plant. Add to this the fact that according to Hagoromo, Kaguya was considerably more powerfull than he was, but when the Juubi started wrecking shit up, Kaguya was nowhere to be seen and it was left to Hagoromo and his brother to fix things. Where did she go? Someone that powerfull would have been unlikely to be killed by her enemies. Heck, maybe Kaguya became the Juubi. Or perhaps the Gedo Mazo.

So I would give good odds that Kaguya was indeed ultimately cursed.

True, but that was implied to be more about how absolute power corrupted Kaguya, rather than any inherent corruption to evil within the fruit. Hagoromo for example states his belief that if any person has too much power over everyone else, it easily leads to problems. Nothing in that conversation implied that Kaguya became evil due to the fruit. Hagoromo implies her corruption had far more mundane origins.

 

Well, Indra, Ashura, and Hagoromo's spirit all managed to linger to this point so I'd say that they're cursed too by that logic.

As for where she went it could be that she died from old age or her sons killed her.

That's more like everyone else being cursed with her presence.

 

The one thing that's really keeping my interest is someone only mentioned in passing. What the fuck actually happened to Hagoromo's brother?

The legend of the Sage says that the Only the Sage fought and defeated the ten-tails, yet we now know that his brother also helped. Would he really only be mentioned in passing? I think he'll have an important role to play in all of this, and I'm very interested in finding out what it is.

Obviously the Sage's brother is the ancestor of the Hyuuga clan.

 

That or there was some tension and he was murdered/betrayed and reincarnated as Indra to fuck shit up.

 

He'd have still needed to have start the Hyuuga off unless Kaguya's relatives had it as well.
