Are there good pictures of Evil Harry, though? So far I've seen only recolors, 'dark' pretty boys and VD-mort catamites.

 

No, both threads are for canon Harry, not stupid fanfic versions. Stop being an idiot.

 

Alexx had not stated so (yet) and had not revived the previous tread, therefore in this particular case an idiot is one that assumes, that is to say, you. Or me for asking a question answer to which is supposed to be obvious to reverend dwellers. And I had not asked for stupid fanfic versions, no matter what you'd like to read and hear in your hallucinations. Picture with angry, sly or hateful Harry will do. Plot matters not.

This is my Harry.

I know, all the other champions look like characters from a generic gothic romance, (lol, Krum is the vampire) but this was my favorite book during my entire childhood. Regardless of the downer ending, it showed, more then any other boook,how wonderful, huge and diversified the HP world could be. It was the combination of the best in the other three books.

And look at Harry, look how happy that motherfucker is.

That's the point. Blonde Hermony(wait, is that a dagger?), Pinky Voltmeter, royally messed eye colours, strange faces. I can not help but think that Roonil is up to something vile there.

It seems that cover artist of Ukrania just took actor's faces and framed in some generic shit. Nothing special.

 

I always pictured Harry as half-Asian, not sure why. Similar to a scruffier, scrawnier Daniel Henney in the later books or this stock photo kid as a young child. Not super close to what I was picturing, perhaps, but frankly I'm afraid to GIS 'cute asian kids' because the results would put me on some sort of watch list.

This thread is inspiring me to think about making some HP fan art, though. Even discounting the weird animu porn, the HP fan art community is super creative and has some seriously talented artists still producing quality work.

 

I somehow missed this post, earlier.
The (marginally) homely nerd girl, who -with the simple addition of a dress, some makeup, and a new hairdo- turns into a fashion model, is one of the biggest of the movie industry's big 'smart girl' stereotypes.

If Hermione had worn glasses that she took off for the Yule Ball, JKR would have been the author of the ur-example of this trope for the 21st century.

The sad thing is that a lot of (early) official merchandise portrayed her as blond, which really is mind-boggling. There was even a mug, shaped like Hermione's head, that had her as a blond with blue eyes... As if it weren't hard enough for fan artists to get the eye and hair color right.

Hermione seems to be the main culprit for fucked up hair (mostly blond, though -through what I can only assume is highly stylized palette choices- she's often given very, very, red shades of hair), with Ron and Ginny probably being the worst in regard to eye color (they give him brown eyes, while giving his blue eyes to his sister... if she isn't creepily drawn with Lily's green).

Inconsistencies with Harry's hair and eyes can mostly be chalked up to people portraying the movie version, or some book/movie hybrid, rather than the original book version.

His renditions of the HP cast tend to be a bit... idealized (or something), but I rather like this one, mainly because Harry looks like he's up to no good. My appreciation of his art is helped along by the fact he served up some of my favorite crack on at least two occasions.

 

There's Darren Criss, which in my imagination is closest (needs more green eyes) to what canon Harry might look like.
