I thought for the longest time that you had a Time Turner, but its obvious now that you've been working really hard--"

*hides Snape's notebook on all seventh year courses*

*uses spell to produce a bouquet of roses*

"It's because I've had such a good teacher all this time. Thank you, Hermione. Without you, I wouldn't have made it through first year!"

*blushing*

"Well, thanks for listening all this time! It's weird... I always thought you were more interested in Quidditch than school, and I never saw you as anything more than a friend because I knew Ron loved me, and... well, I kind of thought you were going to die with that whole Voldemort thing--"

"To be fair, I did die, but Dumbledore let me come back."

*confused expression*

*sudden thought*

"He also said that I was destined to be with you, Hermione, not Ron!"

*pause*

"I believe you, Harry. I've always been drawn to you and this is just the proof I needed -- we are soul-bonded, Harry--"

"Fuck you, then! Run back to Ron's limp, two inch dick! You suck at taking care of my needs ANYWAY!"

"Harry, we're both still virgins--"

"I know! That's what I'm talking about! I'm out of here... Hey, yo, Romilda! What you doing tonight?"

 

I see what you're doing, you sneaky bastard. You're trying to manipulate me into defending H/Hr. Well, I'm not falling for it.

 

You can't defend it even if you wanted to. That relationship has no leg to stand on.

They have sibling realtionship at best.

 

Not gonna fall for that one, either. Try harder.

 

In reality, Harry and Hermione doesn't work (at least prior to Deathly Hallows) because they are two sides of the same coin where it concerns "authority" figures. The only time in the series that I felt it would have made sense was during the seventh book, when Ron bails on them, though I've yet to see a finished fic that covers that period of time with any skill (a few have approached it, but never finished, IIRC).

Of course, none of that keeps the shippers away from it, but that's how it goes. Fleur and Harry, per canon, couldn't possibly work, but we love the shit out of it nonetheless. In fact, the only relationships with Harry that COULD have legitimately worked per canon, are Luna, Ginny, Cho (in that order, 'cause you know Luna/Harry would have been a much better ending than 17 years later, plus the children's names would have actually made some sort of sense. You know Luna would name her kid some wild shit)

EDIT: Forgot that none of this is on topic. Let's move on. Gonna try to knock out this Harry/Hermione WalkingDisaster challenged me to since I'm babbling about their relationship so much.

 

With the way hermione acts, Harry should ahve exploded on her sooner than 5th/6th year, and they should have had an big falling out

I personally prefer chicks with black hair and brown eyes, the whole Aryan thing doesn't work for me.

Now Harry/Pansy, that'd be an interesting thing to read, though I don't believe it was done well.

Potter, No Angst was headed for a Luna/Harry/Pansy triangle if I ever finish it, but I got to a Luna/Hermione hair-pulling fight and Ron decking Harry and decided to write 3-4 other stories instead. It's worth a read if you're that hard up for Harry/Pansy (or Harry/Luna, for that matter).

Talking on IRC, Mishie just gave me a Harry/Pansy rape challenge.

I will write it, and you all can blame Mishie when you're butthurt over it.
