It's being rewritten and quite a few of the things that made the original borderline Mary Sue have been changed. Also, that drinking scene with Regulus and that lama(?) got removed (thank god).

I actually like this story. I think it is the only self-insert that I plan on finishing. That said, I'm kind of suspicious rewrites. It seems like rewriting a story just means it will end up being abandoned.

All the chapters have been rewritten already. The stuff Dethklok posted was just added, so it's getting new material and the author won't get stuck on the rewrite.

The Sea King by Doghead Thirteen - T

    Title: The Sea King
    Author: Doghead Thirteen
    Rating: T
    Status: Oneshot
    Pairings: Harry/Hermione
Summary: "Nineteen years ago, Harry Potter put paid to Voldemort at Hogwarts; now it's nineteen years later and, as the diesels hammer on, a bushy-haired girl is still searching for The-Boy-Who-Walked-Away... Oneshot, Deadliest Catch crossover."

I really like this one, rare example of "oneshot about noncanon pairing" that is not only redeable but reredeable.
Special award for the weirdest crossover known to me that worked.

It means brought to an end.

I found the story readable but boring.

Indeed, a good story. I've recommended it a couple times on the site, though not in this particular thread.

Excellent story, it had me grinning like a loon a couple of times. I could see Harry in Deathly Catch and it would be awesome.

This story has Harry replaced by OC that I hate, it is also crossover with the worst book that I have ever read. Dumbledore has special award for blatant and unnecessary OOC ("shoved a kedavra up her ass" fits Draco Malfoy). Also, superpowering both OC and Hermione? Beginning chapters in HG universe also were nearly unreadable (mainly due to "OC that I strongly dislike" part). This & appearing constantly also are irritating. Also, story is abandoned (the longest finished story from this author has 1700 words).

But the second task in the Forbidden Forest is one of the best Triwizard tournaments that I ever encountered, Hermione's subplot is absolutely great.

It was helped by fact that I like Hermione, I am not so troubled by Super!Hermione. I even was in the mood to read about Super!Something. Also, what was described in the ninth chapter what exactly what I wanted to read since a long time (I had this plot bunny hopping for a long time).

The 'original borderline Mary Sue'? I can't imagine what he changed if this Mary Sue is an improvement over the old Mary Sue.

Overall, I just can't get past the self-insert. Those authors have enough obvious psychological issues - without including the twist of an alternate gender self insert. To paraphrase the author - I don't even want to think about his/her sexual awakening. I'll give future chapters a miss.

This would have been infinitely better without the extremely minor characters 'Emma Watson' and 'Danny Radcliff'. As they serve no purpose other than window dressing, I can only assume that the author included them because he thought it was clever. He was mistaken.

Overall I'd agree with readable, but don't think I'd go with re-readable. As mentioned by someone else, it was boring.

Huh. An odd crossover, but I enjoyed it. Quite a good little story.

Title: Water Aerobics for the Aquaphobic
    Author: Minnionette
    Rating: T
    Status: Chapters: 28 - Words: 154,622
Summary:Umbridge's unorthodox field trip to Jusenkyo springs might have proven why her Defense curriculum was efficacious, if she hadn't accidentally cursed herself, Snape, half of Hogwarts's student body, two Death Eaters, and one hapless Dark Lord. OotP AU
    Longer Summary:
In retrospect, Harry should've known that Umbridge's field trip to the ancient springs of Jusenkyo was an unmitigated disaster waiting to happen. Having fallen into the Springs of the Drowned Emo and Drowned Emu, Harry supposes he's luckier than, say, Snape (Spring of the Drowned Unicorn) or Ginny (Springs of the Drowned Pig and Homing Pigeon), but there are more problems in the upcoming year than just curses that have no known cure: Voldemort takes advantage of his own cursed form to infiltrate Hogwarts as Luna's new pet bunny and actively plots the demise of, well, everyone. And there's really no way to explain Lucius Malfoy, the benevolent Buddhist monk. (AU OotP; Ranma 1/2 crossover) Features many minor characters with personalities – especially Daphne Greengrass and Blaise Zabini.
A rather amusing crack fic and very slight crossover with Ranma 1/2.
For those unfamiliar with Ranma 1/2 the curse of spring is activated by cold water(and reversed by hot) changing person into form of last thing that drowned in it,of course Hogwarts decides that this is best time to start leaking and have various plumbing problems and other "accidents" changing the place into veritable zoo.

Characterization of minor canon characters is rather good for example Daphne & Zabini as resident Slytherin troublemakers duo,it was rather refreshing to see her in different role than standard "Ice Princess".
Overall it's rather decent fic for anyone looking for break from serious epics and dramas ~ 3/5

I believe it also had Ron turning into Tendo Akane, Tonks turning into something that shouldn't exist, Snape turning into a unicorn with fabulous hair, and Umbridge turning into a toad of the most loathsome sort. It was glorious.

The first two chapters of Traitorous are available via a re-upload on FFN. Apparently, the story was included in one of DLP's HTML archives. However, the mirrors for all said archives are dead. Some suggested that the archive (and story) would be in Vash's calibre server but the links to the server seem to be not working for me. Anybody have a means for accessing the story? The first two chapters were really intriguing.

I found the original story thread here

I did some thinking some time ago and I created backups of every good story that I found, so if third world war would break out, I would have something to read in the meantime...

Ehmm... Anyways, I uploaded it here. It will be available for 19 days.

    Harry Potter Becomes a Communist

    Harry Potter Becomes a Communist

Exactly as the title describes, this story is like the legendary 30Hs, except on Communist crack.

To be fair, I think only the politically-interested will find this funny, and even then, perhaps only to a certain extent.
