Practically every post of Kai's bleeds town FMPOV. Kai's pushing for his scumread. He's engaging. He's not lurking (which was the big reason Vira was scumread). His positions make sense.

However, that thought process makes me a little alarmed I am confbiasing. Why is Kai scum beyond the fact he's pushing Fonti?

I can't find anything of Kai's that's not valid. Versus Fonti, drive a truck through.

 

I think no role reveal on death allows witches to be a lot more open in defending each other quite publicly. If witches have GD who people think isn't a witch (*cough* Lyrium *cough*) how would town even begin to gain traction?

Maybe I haven't played enough mafia to justify my views though. I need to look at the rules again to confirm a few things, but I have to leave for a few hours now.

Before that though, look at Fonti's little tantrum. Does she ever do that as town? She baits or angers or etc as scum but as town she's relatively calmer. I just have the image of a little girl bashing a cupcake on the ground because its strawberry flavored.

I don't think lyrium is scum but I think the apprentice definitely might be. If scum have judge as well, it's a pretty obvious choice to lynch you.

Well, we scumhunt. ika also serves as a counter (also you got his role wrong... survivalist has an extra life but we all know you meant spiritualist)... well what if ika gets nked night 1 and you are scum...

We have less method of confirming what people were. It becomes really important to keep out damn mouth shut.

The thing is, we don't need confirmations to catch scum. Sure, they help, but we look at what someone claims and their plausibility of that. For instance, if anyone claims spiritualist AND has posted after ika without attacking him full on, they are scum. Same with doubting you are a gravedigger Lyrium.

We do the same shit we've been doing. We scumhunt. We eliminate bullshit. We win.

I disagree. That's first level thinking. If Lyrium is judged, and the judge claim it. We massclaim. The judge is dead anyway, unless the judge is relatively townread (last in popcorn) and picks the one unccable role (maybe two if bomb target is dead) and plausibly fits it.

So let's say that I am a witch and survive beyond toDay. I could be town and survive to the very end because in Avatar I was sheeping scum so they let me live as their pet.

However, let's say that I am a witch GD.

One, my alignment needs to be checked. This can be done in multiple ways. People who've played with me before might be aware of some of my scum tells and look for\hunt for those.

The information I give as a witch GD would probably be false to mess with town so that would have to be scrutinized carefully. Also, if there's a chance I am scum then I should be up for lynching and pressured a lot.

I mean I know why some people are conf!towning me but I am an easy conf!town due to meta so that in itself doesn't mean much. I could have evolved into super!scum esp. with Fonti + others IRC training.

If I was a witch, what I would be doing is XYZ but obviously not what I'm doing now which is ABC.

Well first thing is, that that is basically the only thing he is doing, which is consistent with his only scumgame I know (High Noon).


Let's go through his post that I found the scummiest, #574.



He says stuff like this:

First of all, I find this is scummy vocab. Also, it's misrepresenting fontisian because fontisian described her own action as "rolefishing" only in response to you calling it that.

But that's only an side-point, he wants to lynch fontisian for the gd thing:

First of all, what should fontisian have done, said something like "I want gravedigger to claim pregame because I want to trick unaware scum if they try to switch roles"? The only way she can justify a plan based around tricking scum is doing it after the fact (retroactively).

His reason for thinking she is lying: she didn't push strongly enough in pregame. That is also faulty logic, because would yo be more likely to claim as scum in pregame if a very experienced player pushed you extremely hard to?

Lastly, there is the fact he is scumreading fontisian at all for the gd plan and I am pretty sure Kai thinks gd claim is +town. He didn't even give us a reasonable scum motivation.


So his entire case screams dishonsty to me. Scum

 

Is the judge revealed during judgments? If so, that would allay a lot of my fears about the judge.

If not, why wouldn't we massclaim now instead of after town lynch + nk?

The post screams honesty to me, but for the opposite reasons. We are both seeing a disconnect between the stated goal and end result of our scumreads.

The trick is I loved that post by Kai and I've been making similar arguments. Fonti's push IMO should have been stronger if her goal was to catch newbie scum in a trap. The whole plan of Fonti's seems pointless because I don't see why scum would EVER fakeclaim in this setup unless there's an obviously scum action on the table. Fonti would be the same way. Why would it matter for the apprentice, gd, or any other role?

As a newbie, I tended to defer to more experienced players, unless I was dead certain they are wrong. Now that I feel confident, my attitude is persist unless I'm dead certain there is something missing/wrong in my mind.

First of all, "did she ever do this as town before" is a bad argument, since fontisian is aware of her own meta.
Second, Yes, she did. She actually reminded us of it in this thread (tinyhunt D2), which is another reason why I don't give townpoints for it.

 

Lol lyrium, enough people have confirmed you're town due to meta that I'm not going to doubt that. It's actually very good for town that we have a confirmed town gd.
